Your POV

Entering the apartment Mr. Stark generously offered, I couldn't be more excited to finally have a new living space to christen with my life. I let out a breathless 'yes' before running up the stairs and to the second floor where my space is located. I spot Steve standing in front of the room with my luggage beside him.

He really shouldn't have though.

He notices me prancing towards him and grins widely. "Hey, just waiting for you to cut the ribbon open."

He jokingly says and I chuckle. "Thank you so much. You really didn't have to carry each and every one of my stuff."

"Aw, come on. The least I could do for a new team mate." This man is the definition of nobility. With a silly grin still etched on my face, I unlock the door and Steve goes in ahead with my luggages in hand. He turns on the lights and my jaw hangs at the sight of the place as I make my way in.

The color scheme seems to match the color of the setting sun. There's a queen-sized bed facing a flat screen TV, a gray sofa by the window, a drawer with a lamp next to the bed, a door that would seem to have the bathroom inside, a closet and a mini kitchen with a fridge and sink.

It's like an entire house already.

"You like it? " Steve asks, setting my stuff beside the bed. I put my hand over my mouth for a couple of seconds before nodding with a ridiculous grin. "It's so beautiful."

"I'm glad you like it. Anyway, the intercom is by the TV, so if ever duty calls, we'll notify you, alright? "

I nod happily like a little, school girl. Without dithering over my thoughts, I throw my arms around his neck and thank him. He does the same and thanks me again for the help I offered last time, "You'll do great, Y/N. You may still be young but you'll accomplish a lot of things." He rubs my back and sighs.

"Thanks for that, Cap."

Loki's POV

Hm. I do wish I had a book with me right about now. I prefer being locked up with the essentials I need to entertain myself.

Shame.

Sliding down against the glass, I slouch and crack my knuckles, utterly waiting for something eventful to happen. Since the Avengers ended my brief, Midgardian 'reign', they confiscated my scepter and the Tesseract and probably contained it somewhere they think I couldn't find it. I admit getting flayed around like a whip by the Hulk sure put me down to a mortal level. I'm just glad my Asgardian body is able to handle some severe blows otherwise I'd have ended up in the death chambers.

My mind suddenly wanders back to when that mortal girl skulked into the room and made a complete fool out of herself when I undid the illusion I pulled on her. It was rather amusing, her expression when she found me just intently watching her roll her eyes as if I actually had my back turned on her.

But indeed there was something about her. Something I can't put my finger on. Her aura seemed to threaten my own and I don't why the moment we locked eyes I-

I shake my head and hit myself in the head. "Get over that earthborn creature." I hiss to myself, throwing my head back against the surface of the glass in absolute vexation.

"Hey Reindeer games!" A voice calls out from the other side and I look up with a snark. Oh, Stark.

"What do you want this time? "

"Did you do anything to her? Mind control?" He interrogates, narrowing his eyes all the more. Who?

"What are you talking about? "

"The girl. The rookie."

"Oh." I have a wretched feeling in my gut that's implying that he thought I somehow cast a spell on the girl when we were just having...a civilized yet brief conversation.

I guess she asked him about me?

I close my eyes briefly and turn away from him. "I can't do that without the Scepter. How did you know she came in here anyway? Guess you forgot to tell her that it's quite rude to barge into a classified space."

He clears his throat as a scornful simper manifests in his expression. "Monitors. She knew the boundaries, besides, it'd be unfair to keep a circus act a secret from a guest." A scowl forms on my face as a response to his ridicule of me.

"And so you admit you'd use the
Scepter if you had it with you." He adds.

"No. She wouldn't be that useful. "

"To you, she wont. "

"She might be, in some other ways." I mumble underneath my breath,  earning a wide eyed response from Stark. "What'd you say, Rock of Ages?"
I wave my hand dismissively, expecting him to leave me be in this confinement but he doesn't budge. "You know what. I think you gave me an idea." He smirks at me in the most ominous way possible.

Wait, what idea?

"What are you talking about?" I ask him,  raising my tone. He chuckles slyly and goes around to the control panel. He emerges from that corner a few seconds later and tucks his hands behind his back. "This is what's going to happen: until S.H.I.E.L.D figures out a way to relocate you and your cheap, magic tricks– I'll be shifting a task I gave Thor to you."

I scoff at him incredulously. "You're going to make your prisoner toil? Don't you think it's a bit reckless to leave me out in the open when you and your team rush out to save the world? "

"Oh but I've thought ahead." He pulls out some sort of palm-sized controller and presses a button, his smile widening. I knit my brows together but gasp as something hits my neck, leaving a sting. "What is this? " I demand him an answer.

"You're going to find escaping a little shocking."

"Answer me, Stark! What is this?! "

"A chip that is capable of unleashing nine hundred volts of pure fun once the micro sensor catches you stepping twenty three meters out of either the facility or the Tower." The look on his face darkens a bit more and I plaster a snarl on my face. "You wouldn't dare, mortal."

He shrugs nonchalantly. "Try me."

I pierce my cold glower into his eyes for a few seconds before groaning frustratingly. "What do you want me to do? " I ask hesitantly as I
feel my mind crumble into madness.
