Your POV
I wake up with Thor's back still against mine and it's around 6 in the morning. I've only slept for two hours tops and the Asgardian powerhouse beside me is still drifting across space and time in his dreams.
I stare at the ceiling for a few minutes and think. I badly wanted to begin training with Steve and Nat but seeing as legs are essential when partaking in physical combat, I won't be getting to that point with a broken one. I wouldn't be able to make it until I completely heal.
I feel so useless by now.
I can't even go to work at the coffee shop.
How am I going to buy my living essentials without money if I can't work?
"W-what time...is it?" Thor yawns awake and shifts on the bed beside me. I'm just relieved to know that it's big enough to hold the both of us without making it awkward. His yawn infects me and I let out a bigger one. "6 in the...morning."
In the speed of lightning, he sits up and stares down at me. "Oh my. Were you having trouble sleeping last night? I didn't hit you or anything, did I? "
I laugh at the look on his face at this very moment. "Chill, you were so still, I almost mistook you for a corpse."
He snorts and runs a hand over his disheveled, golden hair. "Since no one's checked into the penthouse yet, I'll go grab us something to eat."
He rolls off the bed and I lie back down with my hand over my face. "Yeah you can do that."
"Distraught you couldn't do anything until you heal?" He asks and I nod with a silly grin on my face. "Don't feel too bad. Think of it as a weekly vacation." He adds, pulling his hair up into a man bun.
"Vacation with both my legs would be better. " I say drowsily and he chuckles again. "Soon. I'll be back with some fine, Midgardian food to satisfy your injured belly." He waves as he walks out of the lab and I sigh with my hand still over my face.
Guess I'm alone in the penthouse for now. I can't do much with a fresh break to the bone so lying perfectly still should suffice. As I am about to close my eyes again, the door of the lab creaks open and I don't bother to look at who it is, assuming that it's just Thor who's forgotten something. "Thor, I thought you went down to-"
"It's Loki." At the very mention of the name, I sit up but grunt as my sudden movement stimulates the ache in my abdomen. I turn to look at him and well, how is he out of his cell?
"What are you doing here? " I slowly ask, quite taken a back. His mouth twitches into a smile and he sighs. "Just came in to check up on you...too."
Too?
I rub my temple, smirking. I suddenly get the strangest idea to throw a cap at him to test if he's just a projected illusion and the real Loki is still in the cell. I pick up a cap by the steel table next to me and toss it at Loki. It phases through him and I thought correct. "Seriously? " He arches both of his brows at me.
"Just checking if you're real."
"You seemed to have figured out that quickly." He comments and I lie down once more, hugging my abdomen from the lingering ache still present. I don't really feel like opening my mouth right now as my mind is set on trying to tranquilize my abdominal pain.
Two hard jabs to the gut really lost me.
I hear him sigh. "You were freshly trained yesterday. Why didn't you set them aflame? "
I mumble underneath my breath. "I got punched in the gut, I shut down."
"I beg your pardon? "
"I got punched in the gut and I shut down." I raise my tone a little louder and hug my abdomen even tighter.
