Your POV

I don't want to get out of bed. In fact, I would even want Thor to set his hammer on top of my abdomen and make it difficult for me to get up  because I never want to get up ever again.

As indolent as it seems but I honestly don't feel like leaving the apartment today. Take three hours of sleeping with an intense hangover and a super-powered chase, put them together and I become a dysfunctional lump of tissue with barely enough willpower to move a finger.

I groan into my pillow and burrow against it, sprawling on my belly. My eyelids begin to feel heavy and so I let myself droop for a solid minute before getting interrupted by a knock on the door. I'm in a rather comfortable position right now so maybe that person will leave me be if I disregard their knocking.

Knock knock

They could just say their name and state their business so I would know who to grant access to and send away.

"Y/N, it's Steve."

Oh goodness, it's Cap. He can just let himself in, it's not even locked.

I lift my head weakly and manage to bring about a yell. "Just come in!" Before dropping my face back onto my pillow. I hear the door creak open and close accompanied by Steve's ever so light footsteps. While keeping my face buried into the pillow, I raise my hand up in greeting and assume he waved back. "Hey, you alright? "

I hum into the pillow tremulously and feel an addition of weight on the edge of the bed. I lie incredibly still on my front and bring myself to at least communicate with Steve since he actually bothered to visit. It's kind of him to do so.

I flip myself on to my back and clear my throat. "I'm so sorry, Steve. I'm kinda washed out from last night." The corners of his mouth turns up reassuringly. "It's okay. Just came in to check up on you after Loki told me everything. It was a good thing the team caught up just in time."

I prop myself on my elbows and lean back against the headboard of the bed. "Where were you last night though?"

He looks down with a chuckle and rubs his hands on his thighs. "Practically asleep. You had to get chased past midnight." His smile catalyzes one to appear on my face and I hide myself under the crook of my arm. "So that's why you've remained in your physical youth for almost a century. You crawl into bed early."

He shrugs good-naturedly. "That and staying frozen in a block of ice for almost a century."

I manage to let out a frail chortle. "Now that's spirit, Cap." Our chuckles die down and he establishes a solemn yet concerned look in a matter of seconds. "Loki didn't hurt you last night, did he?" I shake my head. "No."

What is he getting at?

"Good. I needed to make sure he wasn't fabricating the events."

"Sometimes, it's just difficult to tell." I mumble and turn on my side, yanking the covers over me. Steve shifts on the edge and asks. "If I might, but you sound disheartened by such a fact."

"Aren't we all? "

"Yeah but judging by the way you put it  seemed as if you were expecting more from him." Wow, he has deduced such a conclusion and he's right. I actually am expecting something more from him and yet at the same time, anticipating for a sudden change of demeanor.

I just nod plainly and lower my head. He sighs. "Hit me if I'm wrong, but is there something going on between you two?" Kinda expected he would educe the question.

It wouldn't hurt to partially lie in front of a person like Steve, right? In the end, he wouldn't approve of such an affinity anyway, much less a relationship with a seemingly menacing villain.
