Loki's POV
Despite not having some sort of physical reaction to anything prone to corrosion, my wrists feel a little sore and itchy from being grazed within the clutch of these cuffs.
I glance lethargically at the agents semi-compassing me as they escort me to be temporarily detained here in the facility before my departure. A built figure goes by my side and even from my peripheral vision, I can already recognize that towering might.
"Hello, brother." I greet him plainly, stealing a quick glance of him.
"Loki..." He utters almost sadly yet I brush him off as the agents flanking me come to a halt as they are greeted by Fury along the way. I let my tired eyes wander around the space and time seems to slow down as I lay eyes on a certain artifact that's held inside a heavily guarded room to my near left.
Looking through the little, glass window on the door, I find the Tesseract seated on a mechanism in what appears to be the middle of the room.
Out of nowhere, a familiar rush courses through me as I fix my eyes on the blue cube, like it's something I haven't felt in a long time.
No.
I mustn't.
But...
Everything feels so pointless now.
Your POV
As I am about to step foot out of the compound, a quinjet descends from above and positions to land smoothly on the ground. The sound is earsplitting and so I bring my hands up to my ears to prevent myself from going deaf. The jet takes up a huge space on the grass, the noise gradually dying down. The hatch opens up, letting a confident Natasha walk out with files in her hand.
She sees me and briefly hugs me as a greeting. "Hey you, what are you doing here?"
"Trained on my own."
The simple smile on her face grows into a slightly surprised beam and she hands me the files she's holding. I raise my brows and questioningly take it from her. "Kindly bring that to Dr. Selvig, if you don't mind." She asks and I nod, grazing my thumb across the surface of the folders. "What are these? "
"Top secret, Y/N. Just go deliver it." She chuckles and playfully pushes me back into the lobby. I shrug it off and head to where I think he is currently working. I traipse nonchalantly through the hall but pause as rapid sounds of footsteps reverberate from the two paths at the end of the hall. Suited up agents show up from the separate hallways carrying weapons as they bustle past me in complete haste, making me pin myself up against the wall to let them pass without any obstruction.
Jeez, what's going on?
I disregard the issue and make my way to the secured room where the Tesseract and sceptre are held. I don't know if I should disturb but the files in my grasp are intended for Dr. Selvig so I must be allowed in. I stop in front of the entrance yet scratch my head in confusion as I glare at the access panel.
How am I supposed to enter when I don't even remember the pass code.I tap my chin contemplatively, in the middle of attempting to remember the sequence Dr. Selvig inputted when he first gave me a little tour. I retrieve a bit of it from my memory and test it out. The screen blinks green as it fully accepts the code and I pump my fist in the air in triumph.
The door slides open and I step in with the files. "Hey Dr. Selvig. Sorry to barge in uninvited but Nat got these for you not too long ago. She kinda asked me to deliver them to you." As I remove my eyes from the folder, the sight of Dr. Selvig scrutinizing the Tesseract in his hands in a manner likely to give anyone a suspicion is the first thing I see. He gasps as he sees me in the door way.
