Your POV

A dull expanse is the first thing that fills my vision as I slip into consciousness. I blink twice, adjusting to the low light around me. Where am I?

And most importantly, what happened?

As I fully regain my activity, I find myself back in my apartment room and on my bed with barely any light flooding the place. "Glad you're awake." A voice says out of nowhere and struggle to sit up to look around. I lay eyes on Thor who's leaning in the corner, slightly silhouetted from my sight.

"Thor? What happened? Where am I? "

He emerges from the shadowy part of the room and crosses his arms at me. "I chased you down last night and came across SHIELD agents carrying you with two tranquilizer darts stuck to your chest." Yikes. So that's what the prick was when I stopped to look around for a place to hide. He sits down on the edge next to you and pats your shoulder. "You alright?"

"Yeah. Did you bring me back? "

He nods, sighing as he rests his hands firm on his lap. "If you don't mind me asking, what happened back there last night? I didn't bother to get in to talk to my brother because I had to follow you out of the building and stay with you until you wake." Oh man, I'm incredibly not in the best mood to talk about it but since it's Thor, it wouldn't hurt to give it a go.

I sit up and grab the pillow next to me, resting my chin upon it. I open my mouth to speak but nothing comes out, not even a heavy hearted sigh. Thor arches his brows in anticipation but instead of responding verbally, I scoot closer to him and lay my forehead on his chest while remaining speechless.

"Y/N...?" He coaxes, planting his arm around my back and stroking my hair.
After what seems like a minute, tears resurface unwanted in the corner of my eyes and I don't care if they fall or not. "The odds are really against us, Thor. "

"What do you mean?"

You sniffle, flicking a stray tear away and finally giving in to the pain. "Do you think it would've changed anything if I had protested against sending Loki back that night? "

Since I have my head against his chest, I hear his heart skip a beat as he sighs once more. "To be frank, no."

"Do you think they would've gone on had I told them that I loved your  brother?" My voice hitches at the last word and he tilts my chin up with his finger for me to look up at him fully. "Is this what got to you last night?"

I don't answer and lower my head.

He moves an inch away and peers up at me from down under. "Please talk. I can't bear seeing you like this." I grab the hem of my sheets and wipe my eyes with it. "I think he hates me now."

"He couldn't! "

"I accidentally told him that I couldn't tell the rest because that would mean sacrificing my position in the team and that got him triggered."

"But we both know that's not true, right?" I'm probably going to make Thor loathe me as well if I told him that it is in fact true. I avoid his stare in shame but he doesn't take silence for an answer and makes me face him.

"Right?" He reiterates and I shake my head, disproving his assumption. "The reason why I didn't want Loki to love me the first time is because of the same reason I didn't tell the team about us."

"Why do you fear disapproval so much? "

"I've gone through a lot of it at an early age." I stand up and tie my hair into a messy ponytail, realizing that the golden necklace is still hanging freely around my neck and it hasn't melted when I combusted into flames last night.
