Your POV
As Dr. Selvig leads us into the compound, I can't help but tap Thor's shoulder and he hums as a response. "They would need you eventually on their mission." I tell him softly. He leans in a little. "No they won't be doing any fighting, until then. Besides, I need to keep a look out on my brother in case he has a trick up his sleeve."
"How do you know he's not gonna escape when we're not looking? "
"That's been solved. Stark stuck a shocking device on his neck and if he dares to step twenty three meters out of the facility– he will automatically be zapped."
Yikes.
I turn my head around at Loki who's quietly trailing in from behind. He notices me staring and he raises one of his brows in question. I ignore him and lean in closer to Thor. "I still can't believe you both are related." I say voicelessly.
He replies back in an almost inaudible whisper. "We aren't really though. He's adopted."
"What? "
"Alright folks. We're here." I snap out of my small trance as Dr. Selvig welcomes us into the training area. I look around this part of the compound with my jaw dropped. The area is equipped with all kinds of paraphernalia used to train. It's even huge enough to let an echo bounce back and forth. I don't know how else to describe it since I'm a little overwhelmed with excitement.
There are a couple of people working on their combat on the sides but not too many to witness me accidentally setting something aflame.
Thor whistles, mighty impressed. "Alright Y/N, let's get you settled. Loki! "
He calls out for his brother but Loki coughs just inches away behind him. "You don't need to yell."Thor scratches the back of his head apologetically and clears his throat. "Come now and teach her what you and I have learned for a millennia." Loki shakes his head, slightly annoyed but he cooperates and walks into the middle of the place ahead of me.
"I'll settle your bag over by the water dispenser." Thor reassures me and I look at him and Dr. Selvig with an expression that's yearning for help but they, nonetheless, briefly encourage me by putting their thumbs up. I heave out a rough exhale and turn around, unzipping my spandex jacket and tossing it over to Thor.
He grunts as he catches it and I face Loki with crossed arms. I'm merely wearing a grey tank top and black leggings with combat boots to match with, but in spite of the flexibility my clothes give me, I still feel hot and sweaty.
Loki paces towards me a little and stops with his hands rested on his front. "I'm not going to mentor you on how to control it, rather, teach you how to use it."
Okay?
He then begins to circle me with his hands still on his front, looking at me sharply with piercing, emerald eyes. "Refer to what I said before. Fire is almost quite similar to magic," I can feel him stop right behind me but I don't bother to turn around, "the flow of it rather. It's a coursing energy that intensifies as the vessel wills it so."
He pauses momentarily before continuing. "Take my brother for example. He can manipulate lightning and thunder. But the strength of it all comes down to how willing he is to go far with it." I slowly look at Thor with a crooked smile on my face and he waves at me like a supportive sibling.
I also notice that Dr. Selvig has left us to our business.
"And your powers, happen to be in accordance with your will." The audibility of his voice becomes clearer and I guess he's taken a few steps closer to me. I freeze as I feel his breath fan against my neck.
