Your POV
His eyes never cease to make my heart thump like crazy. Even if it's just for tonight I want to hold him like nothing else in this world matters. Heck, I'm not even here for this but look at me now.
I walk over to the control panel and let my eyes rove around the buttons, stopping over the feed from the thermal camera inside his cell and seeing just how utterly green Loki's body temperature is in the image.
I wonder how mine would look beside him. Perhaps downright red.
I sigh and input the cell password yet it gets denied. That's odd. I type it in a second time but it gets denied again. New password, maybe?
I tut and stumble away from the panel, walking back to face Loki with disappointment written all over my face. "I can't get in."
His hopeful expression falls but he recovers with a small smile. "It's alright, darling. Maybe we can steal better moments in the near future." Hearing him say that is quite upsetting for both our parts. Would moments like those ever be available to us?
We'd find them but they would still be far out of our reach.
I look down and my mouth curves down to a discouraged frown. "Hey. Look at me." Loki coaxes softly and his velvety voice lures me to gaze up at him. I would see him better if it weren't for this unbreakable barrier between us. "We'll get there without anything stopping us. Even if it seems nearly improbable. Someday, we won't have to hide or stay behind walls. I'll be able to fully hold you and kiss you and feel every bit of you. We'd have it all to ourselves."
I fight back the incoming croak in my voice, giving him a weak smile. "Just project an illusion for me to hug, at least."
He gives out a small chuckle. "I would be missing out on your warmth but I suppose it will do for now, darling." He takes in a sharp breath and with a flick of his hand, an illusion of himself manifests in front of me.
This may be a little odd but then I want to hold him. Even if it's only a part of him. His illusion steps close to me and circles his arms around me. I wrap my arms around his neck loosely and instead of hiding my face in the shoulder of his illusion, I lock my eyes on the real Loki on the other side of the glass.
His emerald eyes glisten against the low light of the room as a lone tear trickles down from the corner of his eye.
"I love you." He mouths each word intricately and the butterflies in my stomach flutter at they way he gazes into my soul.
"I love you too." I say back, closing my eyes as I rest my chin on his illusion's shoulder, feeling it become a little more solid.
Since I'm not able to get into his cell, I simply take the initiative to just sit down on the floor and lean on my side of the glass as we talk to pass the evening time.
He intriguingly tells me how certain, and I quote, 'pieces of Midgardian literature' are currently fascinating him and I ask him who they belong to and he says it's from a 'keenly insightful mortal' named Shakespeare.
Of course it's a joy to see him take great interest in earthborn masterpieces such as those of William Shakespeare. The way his eyes light up as he shares how he feels about them is achingly refreshing. We then share a couple of laughs, banters and taunts before time beckons me to head back to the apartment to sleep.
I bid him a small goodbye and blow him a kiss goodnight, leaving the room to take my heavy eye lids to my own bed.
Emerging from the silhouetted hall, a certain blond, thunder god greets me midway and I almost lose half of the air I'm breathing. "Oh jeez, Thor. Don't creep up on me like that." I grasp firmly on my chest and a silly grin stretches across his face. "I apologize, Y/N. I didn't mean to nearly get you killed."
