Your POV

S N A P

"Oh what the f-" The branch snaps before I could even swear, sending me and a huge portion of it plunging into the water, obviously shocking Loki.

I ascend out of the water and cough, shuddering like crazy as I desperately try to shield myself from the cold.

"Y/N?" Loki asks with a mild squeak in his voice.

I forgot about his presence. I better come up with an excuse before I get annihilated by humiliation. I flip my hair around in an attempt look at him sternly, only to have my face slapped by my damp hair.

"Loki! I uh- what are you doing here? It's late." I stutter a little due to how cold the water is as it soaks my clothes. He rests his hands on his hips as a bemused smile appears on his face. "Bathing, what were you doing up there?" He points at the broken end of the tree and I make a pshaw sound in pretense that I was just hanging around.

"I sleep walked." I lie, trying my very best not to give anything away.

What am I doing with my life?

He looks at me confusingly. "Yeah, I tend to sleep walk. A whole lot. Heh, I have night problems." I say in a 'duh' tone and quickly turn around but stop as he chuckles amusingly. "Would you like me to teach you how to lie sometime?"

"Lie? You think I'm lying? I'm offended." Yeah I'm still trying to get my way out of this despite the petty attempt to fabricate the real reason.

He crosses his arms with that silly grin still on his face. "I forgive you for spying on me."

And at that I turn on my heels and scramble my way out of the water and away from the bitter sting of sheer embarrassment. "I wasn't spying on you! "

"And I forgive you for lying."

"I wasn't doing that as well! " I hand him a thumbs up and wait for him to get out as I wait on a rock, still dripping wet. This was not part of the plan at all. I'm going to wipe that ridiculous smile off his face if he doesn't stop taunting me.

He finishes off by rinsing his arms, splashing me in the face with water. "What are you still doing here?" I wipe my face and smile sarcastically at the idiot. "Making sure you don't escape is all."

"You don't trust me that much, now do you?"

I shoot a sarcastic smile. "No. " Unbeknownst to me, he yanks me by the leg and I end up in the water again.

What the hell!

I gasp for air and aggresively splash water on him, awfully annoyed at how this all turned out. "Why'd you do that? "

He doesn't care and laughs. "You needed to cool down, as you Midgardians say. Your fire was showing."I can't help but get infected by his show of mischief and I splash him again with a bigger amount, bursting into a fit.

He huffs and retaliates playfully. "Oh it's on, mortal!" And then it is on indeed. Loki chases me around the water with the mission of unleashing a tsunami on me but I evade his attempts to grab me and get the upper hand of splashing him all the more. "You're going to pay for that! "

Accompanied by a brief cough, he jokingly warns and I stick my tongue out at him. "I'd like to see you try- Ah! "
This would be a good time to address him a cheater with his fresh intention to trip me as he grabs my leg from under water and hauls me towards him, wrapping his arms around me to prevent me from escaping. But even within his hold, I continuously slosh water at him, giggling like this is the most fun I've had in years.
