sorry

Cold.

So so cold.

People shouting. Bright lights.

Everything is so stiff and cold.

It hurts. He falls asleep.

Peter gasps awake and sits up with wide eyes. He was in a hospital bed, an EKG beeping beside him. May was asleep in the chair next to him and she had puffy red eyes.

He frowns, a phantom shiver running down his spine. He unhooks himself from all the machines and he throws the blanket off himself, glad to see he had all of his limbs. (What? Frostbite can make limbs fall off!)

He stands up, walking up to the calendar to check the date. He gasps. It'd been two weeks! How could he have been unconscious for two weeks? He shakes the confusion from his head and suddenly thinks of Tony.

His heartbeat skyrockets as he's immediately filled with worry for his mentor. He goes back over to the bed and sits down. He studies his sleeping aunt for a moment before reaching out and touching her arm.

"May?" He asks. She shoots up, eyes wide. She gasps when she sees him. "Peter! Oh my god Peter! You're awake!" She cries. He nods, his brows creased. She pulls him into a hug and he holds her just as tightly.

"Where are we?" He asks. "The hospital baby. You were in comatose for two weeks." She explains. He nods, his frown deepening. "Is Tony okay? He was with me-he's okay right? Where is he?" He asks suddenly.

Peter's heart drops at the face she makes. Tears fill her eyes and her lips tremble. A small sob escapes her. "I'm so sorry baby. They couldn't-they couldn't save him. He's gone." She says.

That's all it takes for him to break down. He pulls away from her angrily, tears streaming down his face. "No! No you're lying!" He cries, shoving away from her. She tries to advance forward.

"Peter!" She sobs, "please! He's gone baby! I'm so sorry, just please come here!" She begs. He shakes his head, sobbing as he backs away into the wall. He couldn't be gone. Tony couldn't be gone. Mr. Stark couldn't be gone.

He slides to the ground, hugging his knees to his chest. He shakes his head over and over again, crying and mumbling unintelligible words. Pleads. Begs. He wants him back.

It wasn't fair! It just wasn't fair! May drops to the ground next to him and pulls him close. He can't seem to even hear his own cries. Everything is silent and he feels so so cold.

He didn't think he'd ever warm up again.
