So there's gonna be a part 5 geez I shoulda just made a whole other story but I don't wanna and the next one will likely be the last
Peter lets out a shaky cough as he wakes. His shoulders slump in sadness when he realizes exactly where he is. He adjusts himself on the bed he'd grown so used to. Ross didn't come to see him anymore, but Peter knows that the man still watches him.
He'd stopped counting after he got to thirty something days. The reason he knew Ross still watched him was because of how many times he'd been shocked from the collar.
If he spoke at all, he was immediately filled with excruciating pain. Or if he did anything the man didn't like. Like say, screaming after a nightmare. Screaming in general. He hadn't tried to get out since the first day.
There was no point and it would only cause him more pain. Peter sighs heavily and turns on his side, shifting uncomfortably because of the straightjacket. He wonders distantly if Mister Stark was looking.
He wonders about his aunt who was no doubt worried. He wonders about his friends. All this wondering causes the ache in his heart to multiply. He feels tears well in his eyes again and his chin starts trembling.
Crying seemed to be all he did anymore. He just wants to go home. He wants his aunt's horrible cooking. He wants her hugs and he wants to watch rom-coms on the weekends with her.
He want to build the death star with Ned that they never did finish. He wants to go to decathlon practice. He wants to be Spider-Man and swing around Queens. Hell, he wants to get bullied by Flash.
He whimpers sadly, tears streaming down his face. He squeezes his eyes shut and imagines his friends and family's faces. He imagines May's smile and the way her eyes crinkled at the corners.
He imagines Ned's excited rambling and how he'd never not been happy. He imagines Michelle with her blank look and witty comments and how she pretend pet not to care but really did.
His next thought causes a broken sob to rip from his throat. He imagines his lab days with Mister Stark and how they'd sort of become a little family. They laughed and joked when they worked on their suits.
Sometimes Peter would come over and just sit in the lab doing homework so he could be near his mentor. He remembers the movie nights and the many times he'd fallen asleep in the lab and woken up in his room at the tower.
The first word that come to mind when he thinks of Mister Stark, is Dad. Mister Stark was basically his father. Peter curls into himself, sobbing quietly. "Dad." He croaks. Then fiery pain engulfs him. He can't find it in himself to care as he seizes.
Tony lets out a choked sob and runs a hand down his unshaven face. He spins around with a snarl, chucking his empty glass at the wall. He doesn't flinch as it shatters and falls to the ground.
He slumps down to the ground, hugging his knees to his chest. He'd searched everywhere he could for his kid. He'd searched the ends of the fucking earth for Ross and he just couldn't find him.
His kid had been gone for fifty two days. Fifty two. He couldn't imagine how miserable Peter was. The news clip was permanently burned into his brain. He'd watched it hundreds of times, trying to find some clue as to where they'd taken him.
The only thing he'd succeeded in doing was having his heart break repeatedly as he watched his kid have a panic attack and cry for all the world to see. Everyone knew he was Spider-Man now.
Tony had tried as hard as he could to salvage what remained of the kid's secret identity, but even with his efforts, his alter ego was plastered on every newspaper and news station.
Tony couldn't trust himself to make another public appearance since his last one. He'd made a public announcement about Spider-Man and when someone had commented on his thoughts on Peter being a menace, he had broken.
His face had formed into one of anger as he'd yelled how Peter was anything but that. Pepper had pulled him off the stage and he hadn't been seen in public since.
The few articles about him all had his near dead looking facade showing. His face was gaunt, as he couldn't stomach food, knowing that Peter wasn't safe. His eyes were red with dark circles under them.
He couldn't make his shaking hands pick up a razor to shave the scruff on his face and he hadn't styled his hair, seeing no point. It was sticking up in all directions from him constantly running his hands through it.
He pulls in a trembling breath and shakily stands. He couldn't do this on his own. He needed help and he knew exactly who to call. He pulls the phone out of his back pocket that he always had on him.
He flips open the phone and goes to the only contact on the device. He hesitates for only a second before pressing call. "Tony?" The response is immediate. "Steve." He breathes.
"We're coming." Steve says. Tony's brows pul together in confusion. "How-what?" He chokes out. "The Spider kid, right? We were waiting for you to call." Steve says. Tony closes his eyes and sighs.
"Get here as fast as you can." He whispers, before hanging up. He slumps back against the wall. "Just hold on, kid. Hold on." He breathes.
