i don't make the tea i just spill it

shane dawson used to be entertaining but after the clout he started getting from the tanacon series and the trisha paytas series his content has spiralled downhill to a half-assed attempt at being 'relatable' to gen z teens.

okay.
i used to love shane. i don't wanna do that shit where it's like "i've been standing for longer!" but no really. i was there when he was colouring pizzas black and burning barbie dolls. that 2017 content was probably some of the best he's ever produced in my opinion. but now he's just grasping at straws so he can get monetisation and clout from the masses. he's also picking at old scans but bringing a different view to the table so he can just remake the same points but say them in a slightly different way and earn $13M while doing so (yes i added it up, that's roughly how much money he earned from the jake paul series)

obviously, money is appealing to everyone. if you're told you can earn literal millions from doing something simple then of course you're going to do it. shane on many accounts has said that he hated his old content but loves his new content. i wonder why that could be when he only ever used to earn roughly $390,000 per video. but people are too afraid to bring anything up with him and question what's going on, because the last time someone did he freaked out, saying that they didn't know anything about editing or even the slightest bit of stress he had been under so they had no right to critique his work.

this all comes out of a place of love, because i still believe shane has a very nice heart and is a kind person but he's changed his online persona so much which means i don't think i can keep up anymore. i used to love his conspiracy theories, but this conspiracy series? no. he's taking what his fans have been asking for and putting it on steroids so he can earn as much money as possible. i won't be sitting through that as much as i love the conspiracy theories. i just want a nice sit down episode which is maybe like half an hour where he discusses different theories. not a 50 minute long episode with him making fat jokes, getting worried over the smallest shit, and actually trying to 'solve' these conspiracy theories. that's not what i want. yeah, he wants to appeal to larger audiences but there are certainly better ways to do it.

okay, all of this was just my opinion. if you like shane's new content, that's great, i personally don't. i'm not going to judge you based on whether you enjoy his videos or not. each to their own, man. just thought maybe the conspiracy theorist had become the conspiracy theory.
so no hate towards shane, even though that's 100% what it sounded like, and i will respect your opinion as long as you respect mine okay adios i'm done now.
