46. Sleep walking

I open my mouth but there is nothing coming out. I can't scream, i just can't, although I really want to.
A giant being with a bloody face, maybe a snout, horn-like structures, and branches sticking out of its back, is slowly stepping into the light, raising it's arms.
Turning it's head and making grunting noises this is the creepiest and scariest thing I've ever seen.

This can't be real, this must be some kind of Halloween joke. But sadly it feels awfully real and my wided eyes start tearing up. I pull away from the wall und stumble backwards before I turn around and run away as fast as I can.

I throw a look over my shoulder to check if it was following me but then I bump into something else, making me scream.
"Oh, Julia everything alright?" Jughead looks at me.
I'm out of breath and can't answer so I just start to cry a little.

"Wow, you're shivering" betty steps beside jug who is still holding me.
"Oh here you a-" sweet pea looks closely at my disturbed expression "what's going on?"

Scaredly peeking over my shoulder to where I saw this thing. "I-i... I went there around the corner" stuttering while I point to the woods "to calm down and-and- and I saw a a giant creature with blood and sticks and"

Betty and Jughead exchange looks and nod "wait, that sounds like the gargoyle king"
"I don't know" my voice really low and fragile "it came out of the forest"

Sweet Pea steps closer and pulls me in his embrace, burrying my face deep in his chest. "Let's go home" he whisper and I nod, now tears flowing down my cheeks.

That creature was still hinting me and even a couple weeks late I felt like everywhere I was going I was seeing this gargoyle king or someone from his gang. I didn't tell anybody because they'll just think I'm crazy.

Betty, Ronnie and I want to treat ourselves to some milkshakes at pops after school.

"He really said that?" I question
"He can be such an idiot sometimes"
We chatter crossing the street to pops when suddenly a car honks and hits the breaks hard. But it's too late. Luckily the car only strikes me lightly but I still fall to the ground from my jump.

"Omg, I'm sorry did I hit you?" A young women gets out the car. I managed to land on my side and shore myself on my hand. "Are you alright?" The women asks again because I didn't answer.

"I'm fine" adrenaline rushing through my veins.
"Hey, just watch where you're going" Ronnie spits and the women gets back in her car to drive away.
"Oh god, please say you're not hurt" betty kneels down but I manage to get up.

"I'm good. Only my wrist hurts a bit" i try moving it.
"But that looked really professional how you jumped away" Ronnie chuckles, relieved that I'm fine.
"Yeah, I was a stuntwomen in my former life" I joke
"Ok, all jokes aside, we need to go to a hospital" betty states.

"You chipped your wrist?!" Sweet pea sounds a bit angry, staring at my splint
"It was that women-" I start to explain
"She drove like crazy" Ronnie rolls her eyes.
At least I did get a milkshake.

Then jugs phone buzzes and he pucks it up with a satisfied smile "it's fangs... got good news"

Later that night the serpents were to expose the gargoyle king aka tall boy, now tied to a chair, because of fangs undercover work.
Now the boys are interrogating him down in dilton doileys bunker.

Fp throws a punch "we all thought you were dead, tall boy. Where you been hiding?" Now taking of his jacket.
Tall boy spits out blood mixed with saliva "a small town called Athens. Gotta say, its good to be back. Alice Cooper, she was looking extra sweet the night me and my boys broke into her house, scared the crap out of her and her Bitch daughter. That was fun" jug hits him in the face at his mentioning of betty.

"But not as fun" tall boy continues "as scaring the crap out of cute Julia" he laughs but not for long.
Sweet Pea rushes up to him grunting "You bastards!" and throws a really hard punch, until fangs and Jughead would pull him back.

"All right" jughead when everyone had calmed down a bit "Let's cut to the chase. We know you work for Hiram. You've been dressing up in that little costume, like his mascot." Looking down on him, sweet pea, fangs and fp in the back.

"So, now you..." Jughead taps in tall boys forehead "Are gonna help us take him down."
"You know what else was fun?" Gritting between his bloody teeth "killing Joaquin on Halloween night"

At the thought of their dead friend, fangs and sweet pea are losing their shit "You're dead!", "son of a Bitch!"
Jughead and his dad need to hold them back.
"What!"
"I'm gonna kill him!"
"He killed Joaquin!" Both screaming

"What do you think, tall boy, huh?" Jugs voice surprisingly calm "should I let them tear you limb from limb? Or are you gonna help us get to Hiram? You have access to him"

"Man in black would never agree to meet with me. Not unless I have something that he really wants"

So only the next day they are on the phone with them man in black.

"This is hiram" Mr. Lodge sitting in his studies at home
"I have the red paladin. Him and his friends tried to ambush us in the woods" tall boy is speaking while sweet pea holds the phone to his ear and fangs a gun at his head "If you want him..."

"I do. Where?"
"Usual meeting place. Nine o'clock."
"Understood. Good work" and with that Hiram lodge, the man in black ends the call feeling suspicious.
