All day long the dark, heavy clouds have been hanging over Riverdales sky. The perfect harbinger of a storm.
It was all over the news, the great storm and to be honest I was kind of excited. I really enjoy those extremes, sitting at home with a cup of tea in your hand, hugging a warm blanket around your body. I love that, hearing the rain drop on your window and the wind howling outside.
Sadly, I have to attend detention. The wind howling and the rain knocking from outside has such a different vibe when you are sitting in dead silence in a room with six other students and your creepy principle staring at you.
He didn't even give us any kind of task, we just sit here and do nothing, waste time. I start to wonder if he even has a life outside of school. For one I have never seen Mr. Honey at any event in Riverdale or just at the supermarket, and riverdale is a small small town, and he has nothing better to do on a Friday afternoon than sit in school with some students. I don't know what he is trying to teach us or if it's just his principles. Whatever.
My heard turns to the window to see the attacks of lighting bursting on the street, while we are kept prisoners inside this room. Not just as Mr. Honeys inmates but as the storms prisoners as well. The severness of the storm intensifies and it would probably be very stupid to go outside now.
The inky darkness sinks in, the sky covered with black clouds, it appears to be midnight although it is just quarter to six. Just the flashing bolts of pure energy lighten up the heavy sky. Cracking the darkness open just to disappear seconds later.
Count one, count two, count three, then came explosions of thunder in great waves of discordant and demented sounds. The buzzer of the principles phone goes off like an annoyed rattlesnake. The sudden sound causes all our heads to turn to the front. Honey scoops it up, speaks into it, listens for a moment, and hangs up. An annoyed expressions hushes over his face before he controls it again. Behind those thick glasses mr. Honeys eyes narrow and I can literally see his brain working.
"I have to go" he sighs and my eyebrows shoot up in hope. Luck really is on my side.
"But that doesn't mean you are allowed to go. I will come back, I just have to take care of something" with a smooth movement the small man turns around and vanishes through the door.We are all so astonished that nobody says a word until Reggie gets up and sits down on the pult in the front. A winning smile spreads over his face.
"What just happened?" Toni's eyebrow furrow.
"Do you think his secret girlfriend called?" Cheryl giggles
"You really think he has a girlfriend?" I lean over to look at her."Guys" reggie speaks up, gaining our full attention
"From now on you can call me Reggie the detention god" his arms raise to the air."What did you do?" Archie questions and reggie, still with a wide, smug smile, does not hesitate to answer.
"This dude hates me. I don't know how many hours I sat in detention or had to do extra work. So yesterday when he postponed our 'punishment' as he calls it" he explains, making air quotes "I decided to hatch the perfect plan"The raven haired boy returns to his place and opens his bag, grabs something and presents us a few bottles of alcohol.
"We'll make a party out of it and have the best detention ever. Mr. Honey can suck it""Wait a second Mr. Detention god" ronnie raises a finger, and with that an eyebrow "Mr. Honey will come back and I did not plan on spending the rest of my life in detention"
