My name is Amaya Rose Mikaelson. I'm part revilas, part werewolf and part vampire. After the death of my father, my uncle and Hayley Marshall two years ago my mother Olivia Hale Mikaelson decided to sent me and Hope Mikaelson back to the Salvatore school in Mystic Falls. Once in a while Hope and I visit my mom and our other relatives. And this is the story of how I found something better after life took almost everything from me.

I looked up to the night sky and wondered how everything came to this. I sighed. "For 90 years everything was somewhat fine. Sure, our family had their moments and especially here in Mystic Falls but how could we end like this? My Dad, Hayley and my uncle Elijah died all in the same year and my mom was this close to finally break... so she and Rebekah sent Hope and me here. Not that I'd need this but I suppose the change of scenery was good after all." My gaze broke from the sky and I looked to the side to Penelope Park. "Believe me, you needed this here. Being in New Orleans would've totally destroyed you and we like this earth." She said and I looked over to MG. "She's right, Rose. Besides being here would be even more boring without you." MG said and I chuckled. "Aww, MG." I said and then got up from the roof of the salvatore school. "We should go to bed." I said and then jumped from the roof and landed gracefully on the grass.
MG jumped down the roof with Penelope at his side and then both of them disappeared inside. "Amaya?" I turned around, now facing the woods and looked at Hope. "Can't sleep either, huh?" I asked and she sighed before she shook her head. Then we both quietly walked inside and into our shared room. "I wonder where she is..." I whispered before I laid down on my bed. "Who? Olivia?" I nodded slowly before I turned to Hope who was sitting on her bed. "Probably on Meridial... trying not to break." She said slowly and I sat up. "I miss her. I miss all of them. Dad, Hayley, even uncle Elijah." I whispered and without blinking I threw something against the door.
"Hey! Amaya, calm down, it's in the middle of the night. If Professor Saltzman wakes up because of you-" I got up and Hope went silent. "I got it, Hope. Go to sleep. I'll be back at the assembly, okay?" I said quietly and then took my green gown from my closet, still wearing my clothes from yesterday. "You're visiting your mom..." Hope whispered. I smiled a little and nodded. "Good night." I said before I opened a portal and went through it.
Meridial. A world on it's own. A beautiful planet. With so many wonders. I had tried to talk to my mother to let my live here but she didn't want me to leave my life on earth. I changed into the gown and got my other clothes to a hiding spot. Then I sneaked into the castle only to be thrown at a wall by Sophia Chamberlain, the regent of Meridial. And best friend of my mother. "I'm so sorry." She let me down and she hugged me immediately. "Good to see you, princess." She said and I rolled my eyes. "Only because I am the queen's daughter doesn't mean that I'll reign over Meridial someday." Sophia chuckled, disagreeing with my comment.
I followed Sophia into the throne room and watched my mother as she bend over a table, watching papers. "Why are you here, Amaya?" My mother asked coldly and I sighed. "I missed you." I said, disappointed to get greeted like this. Mom laughed sarcastically. "No, you're here to check up on me. Only a matter of time before the darkness consumes me." She said and then wiped the papers from the table angrilly. "I'll leave you two alone." Sophia said and left the room.
"Hey! Control yourself!" I raised my voice and my mother turned around to me with green flashing eyes. "They want me to marry again, Amaya! They think that I am weak with no one to share that immense power." She yelled and I sighed. "It's been only two years..." I said and Mom flinched. "Since Klaus' death I have no control over my powers anymore. I don't even know who I am anymore without him." She cried out and sunk to the floor. I rushed to her side and embraced her in a hug.
"Sweetheart, you need to go back." She said and looked up to me. "What? No! I can't leave you like this." I protested and my mother sighed. "Someone is awaiting you on earth. She's special." She whispered softly and kissed my forehead. "But-" I said confused. "Go now. Remember that I love you sweetheart." She replied and then as she let me go I was back in my room.
When I opened my eyes, Hope was gone and it was day already. Sometimes when it's full moon time passes slowlier on Meridial. "Everything is fine." I slowly whispered to myself and then went to dress myself properly in the school uniform. Later, I wore a blue skirt with a white top and a black cardigan. My hair was up and hold by pins.
I attended the assembly and I only listened with one ear as I still remembered what happened on Meridial. My mother - broken by what happened. I sighed and looked up. After the assembly I got word from MG that Hope and a new boy at the school called Landon Kirby were down in the transition cellar and so I roamed through the school until I heard noises and screams coming from the kitchen.
When I entered it Lizzie Saltzman let out a scream and a knife flew in my direction. "Cute." I whispered and then looked around. Then I eyed Lizzie. "Go away, whatever they call you." I chuckled. "I could help you if you want to talk, you know?" Lizzie sighed and then she chuckled sarcastically. "Yeah, sure." She replied. "Fine. Then I'll get Emma or your dad. Either way, you'll have to talk about whatever's bothering you." I turned around and started to walk away. Halfway through the door I heard her sigh, "Okay, wait!" I stayed and Lizzie appeared next to me. "In my room in an hour." She said and then walked away. I went to turn around to undo her mess when I laid my eyes on Josie Saltzman, Lizzie's twin. The kind one. "Thank you." She whispered, knowing I could hear her. I smiled at her and nodded.
After I cleaned Lizzie's mess in the kitchen I went to her dorm room and entered it after I knocked. Lizzie sat on her bed and I closed the door behind me. "Why are you here? At the school, I mean." She suddenly asked and I frowned. I went to sat on Josie's bed and looked at the blonde infront of me. "I guess I had nowhere else to go. I knew that if I stayed in New Orleans I'd do things that would hurt the people I love and I couldn't follow my mom on her world because she wanted me to stay and I suppose she didn't want to get constantly reminded that she couldn't save my dad." Lizzie sighed and then eyed me.
"Do you consider yourself broken?" I thought about it before I nodded. "I do. But that's not what you want to hear. I do not consider you broken, Lizzie. You grew up with a legacy of crazy ass witches and that's probably why you have those freak-outs." Lizzie thought about my words before she replied. "But Josie doesn't have freak-outs." She said and I took a deep breath. "Josie is, from what I am seeing, spending a lot of her time worrying about other people's happiness."
"I don't get it. How are you Hope Mikaelsons sister?" She asked and I chuckled. "Your dislike for Hope is only existing because your dad tries to be there for her. She's lost much and you know that." Lizzie scoffed. "How come he is not constantly training with you?" She asked and I chuckled before I sighed. "I don't have quite the problems she has. I can still go and see my mom if I wish to. Besides, Alaric has given up to try to understand me. After all, I'm still a revilas, something he could never find in his history books." Lizzie smiled for a moment at me and nodded. "You know, Amaya, I like you." I smiled brightly and got up. "I'm glad about that. Does that make us friends now?" I asked while I walked to the door. "Hmm... Maybe." She said and smirked before I left the room.
I met Josie when I was downstairs and she pulled me to the side. "Hey, thank you for helping my sister. I know that this wasn't easy." She whispered. "Actually it was. I suppose we're even friends now." I replied and she slowly nodded. Then I was embraced in a hug. Not seeing that coming I just stood there. Completely frozen. "Thank you. Really." She whispered before she pulled away from me. "And thank you for the stone. It's beautiful in the night." She said and smiled at me. "I'm glad you like it." I said in a low voice. "How about breakfast tomorrow?" She now asked and I nodded, smiling. "Sure. I'll be there." "Great. Then I'll be seeing you tomorrow." She said and then walked way and let me stay there, leaning at the wall.
