I stood in a garden. Behind me was a house. I smiled as magic began to flow from my arms to a real ball in my hands. "You've improved much since the last time I saw you." Someone said behind me and the footsteps came closer. Then I looked at Caroline while concentrating on my magic. "I practiced a lot." I said and smiled until I began to feel weird. I stumbled backwards and Caroline held me or otherwise I would of fallen to the ground. "Are you okay?" She asked and I leaned on her and got back into a standing position. "No... I feel really sick. Something's wrong." I whispered and looked at her. Then I opened a portal. "Woah. Hey! You can't go. What if something happens to you?" My eyes unintentionally flashed. "If something happens to Josie or Hope while I'm gone it's gonna be 2011 again." I said quietly in a threathening voice. Then the blonde vampire nodded and I quickly jumped through the portal.
I arrived in the library and watched Josie searching for book with a magical object that helped the students look for a specific book. Before she turned around I quickly raised both of my hands and whispered, "Invisique." and when she turned around she raised an eyebrow and then shook her head. I got closer to the siphoner and watched over her shoulder to see what she was searching for. The letters showed me the word merge and I sighed. I knew she read the notes about the merge and I knew now that I had to be careful and stay invisible to her and everyone else.
I began to wander through the halls. "Olivia? What are you doing here?" The male voice came from the headmasters office and I quickly appeared into it. To my surprise my mom was really here. "Since a few weeks now I can't feel my daughters magic. Where is she?" Mom asked and her voice was filled with worry. "She's not here anymore. Amaya and another student left to find a way to prevent the merge." Alaric said and Mom growled quietly. "Why was I not informed about this? She's my daughter, Alaric!" She yelled. "And she's my student. One I can barely teach control." Alaric answered. "You can't control her at all, Alaric. She's not to control. Amaya is one to reign. To fight. But the thing you can't keep her from doing is to explode. And she will when she learns that there is no way to prevent the merge!" I gasped and stepped backwards. I was visible again. "What?" I asked quietly. So quiet that I barely heard myself. "Amaya, I-" Mom started but I ran out of the room and ran outside into the woods.
I looked around franctically and felt my mothers presence behind me. With icey eyes I began to scream. The waves sent leaves flying through the air and I heard the cracking of the trees. "Amaya! Amaya, stop!" My mom called out and I suddenly began to hover in the air while screaming.
Then I turned around and looked down to my mother. "I know how you feel! I know the feeling when you're being told that there is nothing you can do! When you have to let go the one person you love more than yourself. But there is still time and you can spend it with Josie. Make each moment count. And when the day is there I will be here for you." My feet touched the ground again and I leaped forward. When I stood infront of her I grabbed her throat. "You don't know a thing about my feelings." I whispered quietly and my voice was sharp.
"No? So, I didn't totally break inside when your father died? I know exactly how you feel but you have to keep fighting. Especially now." She choked out. I let her go and she sucked in deep breaths. My eyes turned back to normal. Then I remembered something. "Ruby!" Mom chuckled.
"Locked away. Again." She said and I sighed. "Now go and see your other half." I quickly hugged her and she whispered, "It's okay, sweetheart. I'm not mad." She let me go and I went back inside to look after my friends.
When I reached the twins' room I heard talking. "So one of us has to kill the other one?" Josie asked and then there was silence. They weren't talking about the merge, weren't they? "Yes." Alaric whispered. I knocked twice before I entered the room. The twins got up from their beds and Josie stared at me. Alaric turned around to face me. "Did- Did you know? About the merge?" Josie asked and I took a deep breath. Then I said, "I wasn't allowed to tell you. Either of you." Josie and Lizzie looked at their dad and scoffed. "So, Amaya knew the whole time?" Lizzie asked and Alaric sighed. "I did. I left to find a way against it but I was told that there is no way. Of course, it's not gonna stop me from trying." I answered and the twins looked back to me. "You knew the whole time and didn't bother to tell us? To tell me?" Josie asked angrilly and I stepped back. "I wasn't allowed to. It wasn't my story to tell." I answered in a loud voice and being close to wolf out or explode I turned around and left the school.
Green magic balls were surrounding my hands and I tried not to explode. I needed to release my magic in a way or the other but it was hard with so many people around. I looked around franctically and I took deep breaths.
                              —
"May we see eachother again." I whispered and laid down on my bed with my hands on my stomach. I closed my eyes and whispered, "I hereby commit my soul to the brightest of stars to overcome my shadows. I wish to be accepted by my Elders." I felt a slight hurt in my chest. "I will always be with you." I thought to my love.
I awoke somewhere near the forest and sat up. I rose to my feet and looked around. Nothing had changed from the last time I saw it. It was still so beautiful. So peaceful. "Amaya?" A voice quietly asked behind me and I turned around. At the sound of the voice two people came out of the house and I whispered, "Hi." Dad, Hayley and Elijah came all forward and Dad was the first to hug me. When we parted I embraced Elijah and Hayley in a hug. "Give me the strength to finish it. Because I can't. I don't know how." I whispered. "What's going on? Why are you here?" Hayley asked. "I don't have control over my magic anymore. I'm attacking people. And the person that I love is so different now because she knows the truth." I answered. "I- I parted my soul from my body." I added and they gasped. "You have to go back, Amaya." Elijah said and I shook my head. "Please, let my stay. I- I don't want to go back." I sobbed and tears stung in my eyes.
Dad walked up to me and put his hands on my cheeks. "It's not your time, Amaya. The longer you stay the harder it is to pull you back. Your mother and Hope need you." He said and I shook my head again. "I can't do this anymore. I can't fight any longer." My voice  cracked and Dad hugged me. "Something big is coming and they need you. Hope needs you. The little witch, too. You have been alive for so long and you have witnessed so much. Don't stop fighting now. You are a warrior.  Amaya, you are a queen. Now go." He said and then pressed a kiss on my head. "We love you so much, little fighter. But your father is right, you have so much more to live for." Hayley said and smiled at me. Something unknown tried to reach for me and I closed my eyes and let it happen.
                              —
I gasped loudly and sat right up when I was pulled back into the living world. "Are you crazy? You could've stayed dead!" Hope's voice was loud, filled with anger and sadness. "I saw Hayley and Dad." I whispered and Hope sunk on the bed. Her voice was softer now, "What?" She asked. I nodded and then the tribrid hugged me tightly. Over her shoulder I saw Alaric, Josie, Lizzie and my mother. Hope and I parted and I looked up to my mother. "Something big is coming. I can feel it. And it feels like I'm not strong enough to prevent the worst. " I whispered and then my eyes wandered to the other adult in the room.
