IT WAS FRIDAY night and Valentina was going out with her sister Estelle for drinks and to catch up. It had been a while since they'd seen each other and since Estelle had just recently got engaged to her partner Daniel, she had a lot to tell Valentina about wedding plans.
Valentina had decided to take Estelle to a bar that was a fairly equal distance between both of their places, so neither one had to travel much further than the other. Estelle did live in a house in London, but she wasn't in Kensington like her younger sister.

Valentina picked out some blue bell bottom jeans and a red blouse that clung to her body. She went for a more casual look, since it was just drinks with her sister and not her normal weekend night out where she was trying to get the attention of men.
She sprayed on her favourite perfume and applied some simple makeup, but finishing it off with a red lip, which was her signature look. She left her hair hanging loose around her shoulders, and grabbed her favourite handbag, slipping a packet of cigarettes, a lighter and her purse into the bag.

Once she arrived at the bar, she spotted the familiar blonde curls and dazzling smile that belonged to her older sister Estelle almost instantly. She was perched on a bar stool, wearing a pretty flowing dress with small flowers printed on it, which came to halfway down her thigh. She had on a fur coat over the top as it was chilly outside, and she was sipping a drink and making friendly small talk with a female bartender.

"Elle!" Valentina called as she approached, a smile forming on her lips at the sight of her sister.
"Valentina! Oh, it's so good to see you darlin'!" Her sister grinned, standing up to embrace her in a tight hug. Valentina was suddenly engulfed in the smell of rose scented perfume, and she smiled at the familiarity of it.
"You look pretty" she smiled at Estelle, admiring her casual pale blue dress and her effortless curls.
"Thanks! You too" she smiled back.

Valentina sat down next to her sister and ordered a cocktail, taking small sips from it every now and then while she and her sister made small talk and caught up. Eventually, Valentina asked about the wedding.
"So" she started, glancing at the glittering golden ring on her sisters finger which had three small stones on, "when's the wedding going to be? Any ideas yet?" She asked.
Valentina watched her sisters expression light up at the mention of her wedding, "well, we were thinking perhaps June next year. We both want a summer wedding, because it'll be really pretty then and hopefully the weather will be nice" Estelle replied excitedly.
"That sounds like a good time. I'm so excited for you Elle!" Valentina giggled, imagining her sister in a beautiful white wedding gown.

"I'm excited too! But, there's so much to plan. And I have something to ask you.." Estelle trailed off, looking slightly nervous but still with her eyes glinting.
"What is it?" Valentina frowned slightly.
"So, I was wondering, since you are an incredibly talented designer and dress maker, whether you would do the honours of making the bridesmaid dresses? I know it's a big task as there will be quite a few, but I love what you make and I know you'd just bring the idea I have in mind to life!" Estelle gushed, "you don't have to do it if you feel it would be too stressful on top of your job, but I would love it!" She finished.

A excited smile spread across Valentina's cheeks at her sisters words. The fact that she loved her designs enough to let her make dresses for her wedding meant a lot to her.
"I would love to!" She squealed slightly, "I can't believe you'd let me. Of course it'll be a big task but if I start early, I can get it done on time. You'll need to help me plan and get the sketches done of course, and I'll need everyone's measurements, but I would love to do that!" Valentina grinned.
"Oh great! I'm so happy you'll do it" Estelle beamed back.

After two hours or so of discussing dresses, colours, wedding designs and flowers, the two women were getting ready to leave and head home. Valentina was just finishing the last of her drink when she noticed a familiar person in the corner of her eye. It was the blonde hair and the sound of a deep voice that caught her attention. It couldn't be Roger, could it?
She turned her head and saw that it was indeed him, the drummer she had slept with. What were the chances of seeing him again? She hadn't thought that when he said "hope to see you around" he had actually meant it.

He turned around and locked eyes with her, for a second he looked confused until a smirk spread across his lips. He started to walk over to her. "Estelle, you can head off. I'm just going to use the ladies room" Valentina said, in an excuse to get her sister gone before Roger could introduce himself.
"Okay Val. I'll see you soon!" She gave another brief hug before heading to the exit of the bar.
Just as she left, Roger appeared next to her.

"Fancy seeing you here, Valentina was it?" He said, a smile on his face.
"You remembered my name? Well done" she joked bluntly.
"A woman like you is hard to forget" he smirked.
Valentina rolled her eyes, "course I am."
Roger signalled to the bartender, and ordered himself a beer, taking a seat at the bar.
"Well, I better be off" Valentina shrugged, turning away to leave.
"Wait" Roger started, Valentina turning back to face him with her eyebrows slightly raised.
"What do you want, drummer boy?" she asked impatiently.

"Hang on, you remembered what I do? I thought you were hammered at that point" Roger look confused.
Valentina cursed herself internally for giving him something to talk about. She felt her cheeks heat up ever so slightly, because she did indeed remember much more of that night than she usually did when it was with other guys. What is it about him that I like? she thought to herself.

"Oh, it was just a guess" she joked.
"So you sleep with a lot of drummers?" He smirked, clearly having fun interrogating her.
"You could say so" she continued the joke, "they're usually good with their hands" she whispered, before turning around and walking away.
Roger was left a little wanting as he watched the blonde woman walk away, she was just unlike all the women he usually slept with. She was sure of herself, and she played hard to get. He liked it. But he didn't want to just let her get away, something about her intrigued him.

"Valentina" he called after her.
She turned, "I need to get home" she rolled her eyes at him once again. He was persistent.
"One thing before you go" he said. He turned to the bar tender, "you have a paper and pen by any chance?" He asked.
The woman behind the bar nodded, handing him a small scrap of paper and a pen. Roger quickly scribbled something down, getting up and handing it to Valentina, who was now near the door.

"Oh, you think I'm interested. I see how it is" she laughed, taking the paper from him.
"Give me a call sometime?" He asked, his beautiful blue eyes pleading.
She shrugged her shoulders and pressed her lips together, "we'll see."
He chuckled, heading back over the bar. She watched him sit back down and start drinking his beer, then she turned and pushed through the door, heading out on to the cold street.

She took out a cigarette and held it between her teeth as she lit it, taking a long inhale and then pulling it away between her fingers, exhaling smoke into the night air. With her other hand she opened the piece of paper that Roger had given her.

IF YOU'RE EVER BORED, OR FANCY WATCHING A BAND RECORD THEIR SONGS, YOU KNOW WHO TO CALL.

ROGER X

She rolled her eyes at how keen he was. Part of her wanted to show him that she also liked him a little, but the voice inside her head that was scared of commitment told her to just throw it in the bin. She decided to slip it in her back pocket instead, just incase she ever changed her mind.
