IT HAD BEEN nearly a week now since Valentina had kissed Roger and poured her heart out to him at the bar. She hadn't really contacted him since, because if she was being honest, she felt a little embarrassed about her confession. He had rang her twice, but both times she had ignored it, hoping he would think that she was just out of the house. Emilia had been very pleased that Valentina had confessed about her past and admitted her feelings for him, but she had left to go and stay with her parents for a week and if she was still about, she definitely wouldn't approve of Valentina avoiding him.

It was another freezing cold January morning when she managed to crawl out of the warmth of her bed, layering up in pyjama trousers and a big knitted sweater and slippers. She shivered as she went to turn on the heating, and headed to the kitchen. As she went to fill the kettle to make her cup of morning coffee, she realised her water wasn't working. The pipes were frozen. She let out an audible groan.

She went over to the radiator to check if the heating had come on, and she realised that it too, was not working. She deliberated what to do for about ten minutes. She couldn't go and stay with Emilia because she was away, and her sister was far too busy with wedding planning and such to have someone stay in her house. She could ask to stay with Mary or one of the other boys, but she'd feel like a nuisance. The only person who wouldn't be bothered by her stay would be..Roger.

She sighed, it would have to happen. She would just have to shrug off the humiliated feeling and go and stay with him, that was if he would let her. She wouldn't blame him if he didn't after she'd been so distant this week. She moved about the flat, packing essential things and clothes into a bag before leaving the flat and locking the door. She decided to walk to Rogers flat as the exercise would help to cleat her mind. It was a Saturday, so she wasn't at work.

She pulled her floral patterned coat tighter around her and buried her chin in the scarf around her neck as the cold air tried it's best to sneak in from every gap. When she reached his flat, she took a deep breath, before knocking on his door. She waited a few moments, before it swung open and she was greeted by a tired looking Roger, no shirt and clad in just some simple joggers. Her eyes widened as she briefly admired his physique.

"Tina? I wasn't expecting to see you at my door.." his eyes lowered to the large bag in her hand, "with luggage?" he raised one eyebrow, his tone inquisitive.

She laughed slightly, "yeah, well my pipes are frozen, and my heating's gone. Emilia is away, and you're pretty much the only person that I figured would let me stay. I understand if it's in inconvenient.." she rambled, before she was cut off.

"Listen, it's fine. Come in" Roger replied, a smirk briefly flashing across his face as he stepped aside to let her in. Valentina sighed happily as she realised the air in his flat was significantly warmer than that in the hallway or outside. She dropped her bag at her feet and removed her coat and scarf, hanging them on the hooks by his door.

"Thank you so much Rog. And I'm really sorry for avoiding you a bit this week, I was just a bit embarrassed about what I'd told you at the bar. I'm not very good with facing my feelings you see.." she started.

Roger shook his head, smiling. "Don't worry about it love, I figured that out a while ago. You're welcome here any time. Cup of tea?" he offered, walking off towards the kitchen.

"Oh yes please" she smiled, following him into the kitchen. She pulled herself up to sit on the counter top, watching him make tea. Her eyes roamed him as he had his back turned to her, but he caught her as he turned, eyebrows raising in a smirk.

"Like my outfit?" He chuckled, as Valentina felt her cheeks flush slightly.

"It's alright I suppose" she shrugged, smirking a little. Roger just responded with a laugh, turning back to make the tea.

Valentina had been at Rogers place for the entire day. Darkness had just fallen, and she had just got out of the shower. She put on some underwear and a large patterned jumper that came to halfway down her thighs, a length acceptable enough to wear with no trousers on underneath. She dried her hair a little with a towel and left it loose, falling across her shoulders and down her back. She took a quick glance at her appearance in the mirror before exiting the bathroom and heading to the warm living area where Roger was sat on the sofa, glass of beer in hand, and a notepad on his lap enveloped in messy scrawl.

She peeked over his shoulder at some of the words – presumably lyrics – that he was writing.
Blue eyed girl, you make my heart beat faster,
Oh how you love to play so hard to get,
It was all she could see before he placed it face down on the table and turned around to look at her.

"I see you, reading my lyrics" he smirked, however she could tell that underneath he felt ever so slightly embarrassed.

She grinned, "I've never had someone write a song about me before. I'm flattered!"

He rolled his eyes, "I'm not good at writing lyrics. That's why Freddie and Bri write most of the bands songs, but I try my best" he replied.

"I like those lyrics.." Valentina's smile grew, before she headed over to his record player and lifting the lid, turning it on. She scanned his shelves of records, before picking a Beatles record up.

She placed it on the turntable and moved the tonearm the the start of the record, lowering it and listening to the faint crackles before the first track started playing.

"Is there anybody going to listen to my story, all about the girl who came to stay?" they sang.

Roger looked up, smirking.

"She's the kind of girl you want so much it makes you sorry, still, you don't regret a single day."

"Did they write this about you?" Roger joked, standing up. Valentina laughed.

"Dance with me?" She asked, her blue eyes wide. She stuck her hands out to him, which he quickly took in his own. His hands were much larger than hers, and warm. They made her feel comfortable.

He span her around as she danced barefoot on the worn down carpet, letting out the occasional laugh. As the songs kept playing one after the other, the two danced for a while. Valentina stopped for a moment when she realised just how close she was to his face, his eyes boring into her own. He was admiring her and her stomach was in knots.

She just couldn't help herself as her body pushed her closer to him, and before she could even second guess her actions, she was kissing him again. Accept this time she had no doubts in her mind, she was just lost in the music and the kiss, the taste of beer lingering on her tongue.
