The group follows quickly behind Shane, I keep a tight grip on Kris as she struggles to keep up. "What the hell is that?!" Shane yells and everyone raised their guns, I have Kris hold onto my shoulder so I could aim properly with the shotgun. "Shane!"

"What the hell are you doing?"

"Shane, just back off." Rick waves us back as he struggles to keep a hold on the pole. "Why do your people have guns?" Hershel asks as Shane gets worked up. "Are you kidding me? You see? You see what they're holding onto?"

"I see who I'm holding onto."

"No, man, you don't."

"Shane, just let us do this and then we can talk."

"What do you want to talk about, Rick? These things ain't sick. They're not people. They're dead. Ain't gonna feel nothing for them 'cause all they do, they kill! These things right here, they're the things that killed Amy. They killed, Otis, they're gonna kill us all!"

"Shane, shut up!" Rick orders but his words fall on deaf ears. "Let me ask you something, Hershel, can a living breathing person walk away from this?" He holds up his pistol before firing three times into the walker's chest. "No! Stop it!"

"That's three rounds in the chest. Could a living person just take that?" He fires more and I see Hershel's look of horror and shock.
"Why is it still coming? That's its heart, its lungs. Why is it still coming?"

"Shane, enough," Rick shouts and Shane nods. "Yeah, you're right, man. That is enough." He walks forward and shoots the walker in the head and watches as the body falls to the ground. "Enough risking our lives for a little girl who's gone! Enough living next to a barn full of things that are trying to kill us." I glare at him, glancing at Carol.

"Enough. Rick, it ain't like it was before! Now if y'all want to live, if you want to survive, you got to fight for it! I'm talking about fighting right here, right now." I watch as he runs towards the barn doors.

"Hershel! Take the pole! Please, Shane brother don't do this! Hershel, take it! Take it!" But Hershel doesn't move, Rick and the group watch as Shane breaks the locks on the barn. Banging on the door. "Come on you ugly bastards!"

Shane steps back and I watch as the barn door opens and a walker in overalls steps out. Shane holds up his gun aims then fires. We all step forward, except for Lori, Carol, Maggie, Dean, Hershel, Beth, Jimmy, and Carl. We hold up our guns and begin killing walkers.

Before Kris, fires I just tell her to hang back and thankfully she listens. We drop walkers left and right. When Shane gets a moment he turns around and shoots the walker Rick's holding onto. He turns forward and starts shooting again until all the walkers are dead.

I hear Beth and Maggie crying. I lower my shotgun, thinking it's over until we all hear one last snarl. I watch as Shane holds up his gun and waits. I stiffen as I watch Sophia stagger out of the barn, a giant bite on her shoulder. I feel Kris's hand on my arm and I nod. Everyone stares in sadness and defeat at Sophia.

"No! Sophia! No!" Carol tries to run forward but I follow and wrap my arms around her and follow when she sinks to her knees. My sudden movement made Kris stumble, she would have fallen if it weren't for Andrea, I nod to her in thanks. "Sophia!" Carol cries looking up at her daughter. I make shushing noises and hear Carl sobbing as he looks at his friend.

"Don't look," Lori tells him as Rick steps forward, holding his revolver up. Sophia stares up at him, snarling and growling. Rick looks at her for a moment before he pulls the trigger and I watch her body crumple to the ground. After minutes of silence and crying, Carol gets up.
