I'm in the bedroom with Kara, helping her get dressed. "Can't I add just a little bit?" I ask her and she glares at me. "I may be a female, but I refuse to be a girly female!" I smile, shaking my head and clucking my tongue. I was able to borrow some lip gloss from Jessie.

"Come on, Kara, it's not as horrible as you seem to be labeling it."

"Mom, I'm already wearing a dress and heels for you. Do I really need more?" She's right. I look her up and down. Her straight brown hair is out of its ponytail. She's wearing my necklace, a red dress, and black heels, again borrowed from Jessie.

"Just a little," I say and she sighs submitting to my wishes. I smile and apply a little bit of lip gloss. I'm wearing a light dull pink cardigan, a lavender silk type dress, and open-toed heels. After I'm done I lead Kara to the mirror. When she sees herself, she looks shocked and stares at her reflection.

"Well?" I coax, giving her a smile. "I guess I'm not...hideous."

"Not even close," I say chuckling and kiss the top of her head. "Come on, girls time to go." We turn and see Daryl in the doorway. He's wearing his leather vest with the angel wings, under it is a blue dress shirt, and his ripped jeans. We nod and head down the stairs.

Rick, Michonne, and Carl meet us at the front door. Rick's holding Shawn while Carl holds Judith. I thank Rick for getting him and take Shawn into my arms, he coos, making me smile. Rick takes Judith from Carl, and I notice Carl turns his gaze to Kara.

I smile and walk out the door when Daryl opens it. Together we make our way to Deanna's house. The sun is still high, but I think the party goes well into the night. Once we get there, Carol with her basket of cookies opens the door and we head inside.

Not many people are there. "Oh, my. Welcome," I smile at Deanna as she comes over to us, holding a glass of wine. "Hi," Carol greets with that strange smile she's been doing since we got here. "Oh, it's so good to see you. Hi, Carl. Thank you for coming. You know, I didn't get a chance to interview this one. I envy her."

"Why?" Rick asks and she smiles. "She'll get to see what this place will become. Come. Come on in." We follow her in. I hear the door open and I look to see a cleaned up Rosita and Abraham. They looked more than a little uneasy.

Rick is talking with Deanna and Reg. I rock slowly with Shawn in my arms and Daryl's hand on my waist. The door opens again and I look up to see Jessie, her boys Sam and Ron, along with her husband Pete. At their appearance I take note of both Kara and Carl looking uncomfortable.

The day passes into night and I've had plenty of conversations. Mostly centered around my baby and husband. Eventually I make my way over to Maggie, Glenn, and Noah. "Hey, how's the party been for you guys?" I ask them and they turn to me with smiles. "It's been good. How you feelin?"

"A little tired, but I'm just happy we're no longer out there. And my son is safe." Maggie nods and rubs my shoulder. "You were very brave, Kristina. I think your family would've been very proud of you." Shawn starts fussing in my arms and I adjust his position.

"I think I'm going to head home. Someone's getting hungry."

"Do you have to go?" Glenn asks me and I give an apologetic smile. "Yeah. Besides I think Daryl already snuck away. And I really don't feel comfortable breastfeeding in front of an entire community. Have a goodnight guys." They nod and wished the same before I left Deanna's and after telling Kara.

I stand around looking at everyone around me. My mom just went home to feed my newborn brother. My dad seems to have already ditched the party. I feel really exposed wearing this dress like there's a giant target on me.
