I'm sitting down on Daryl and I's shared bed, thinking about him, being out there. I'm also worried about Glenn, Maggie. Basically everyone. "Mom, you're hurt!" I look up at Kara's voice and then follow where she points. There's a patch of red staining the sleeve of my t-shirt.

"Oh, I was running back here so fast, I must have caught myself on something. Don't worry, Kara, I'll go to the infirmary and get what I need to patch it, okay?" She nods and I pat her shoulder. "Watch, Shawn for me."

"You mean like I've been doing?" I chuckle, nodding and head downstairs and for the door. "Um, Mom?" I turn and look back at Kara, who's holding Shawn. "Did you ever have to kill anyone one?"

"Yeah."

"Were they threatening you?"

"They were threatening your dad."

"So you had to."

"Yes, why are you asking, Kara? Is it because of the wolves that you shot?"

"It's nothing. Never mind."

"Kara you-"

"Can tell you. I know, but I'm fine. Go get your wound taken care of." I nod and leave heading for the infirmary. When I walk in I see Tara and Denise talking. "Hey, guys." I open one of the cabinets and grab the bandaging. "Um, can I help you find something?"

"Oh, I'm just taking care of my arm. Might need stitches."

"Well, sit down I'll take a look at you." I turn around and tilt my head. "Wait, are you the doctor that's replacing, Pete?"

"Um, kind of. I went to med school."

"Don't worry, she is," Tara says only for her eyes to widen and she points at me. "Wait! Kris, I remember hearing from Maggie that you went to med school too, right?"

"Yeah, so?"

"Oh my, god. Tara you're saying-"

"Kris is totally qualified to help you."

"No, I mean I could, but Shawn-"

"Oh, come on. Please, I've seen Carl, Kara, and Carol taking great care of him. We need you. Um, Denise needs you." I look at them and their pleading eyes. I remember what I said to Daryl, about wanting to contribute maybe this is how I can. And he won't be able to be "protective" anymore.

"Um, okay, I mean I patched Daryl up so I guess I could be of some help here." Tara smiles and hugs me. I nod and she pulls away. "Let's look at your wound, if you need stitches you can't do it by yourself."

"Okay, you girls do that. I need to go take up watch with Eugene."

"Okay, bye Tara."

"Bye," She says waving and I wave back, watching her leave. I sit down and roll up my sleeve. "Did you have to climb a fence to get back here?"

"Yeah, I did. Why?"

"You must have caught yourself good, but you don't need stitches. Just peroxide and a bandage. You know what to do if it gets infected?"

"Trust me, I know. Not going through that again."

"Again?" She asks as she sets up what she needs. "Um, back when everything first started before we met Maggie and her family, way before Tara, Rosita, and everyone else it was just our small group. We got stuck on a highway and I had a wound on my shoulder."

She works quietly, listening intently. "Before that we were at the CDC, to escape Rick had to blow up a window. Daryl and I had just gotten there when it blew. A burning piece of glass sliced through my shoulder. I was in our RV on the highway when a walker attacked. After killing it, Daryl helped clean my wound. But I kind of slacked on cleaning it properly, I had a lot on my mind."
