"That gunfire, it could have been from Terminus."

"Someone was attacking them?" I ask and Carol looks at me. "Or they were attacking someone."

"Do we even want to find out?"

"Yes," I say and Tyreese looks down at me before nodding. "There's another track due east. It'll get us there. We'll be real careful. We're gonna get answers." We move quickly, but quietly. Then we stumble upon a young man with fireworks.

A woman on the radio begins talking. "10-minute count. You screw up, you're on your own, Martin."

"You don't have to tell me. I wipe my own ass. Alex didn't get it. See, I knew the chick with the sword was bad news. Bitch looked like a weapon with a weapon."

"He was always a sloppy-ass mother."

"Yeah, I told Albert I want the kid's hat after they bleed him out." I walk forward and pull my gun on him as soon as those words left his mouth, they have Carl. "Keep your finger off the button and drop it."

"They're only doing eight before public face. Don't wait on em." The woman on the radio says and I watch Martin slowly set it down.

"Listen, y'all don't have to do this. Whatever you want, we got a place where everyone's welcome."

"Shut up," I say, glaring down at him.

"Okay."

"We're friends with the chick with the sword and the kid in the hat," Carol says looking at him. "They attacked us. We're just holding them."

"I don't believe you. Who else do you have? Do you know their names?"

"We just have the boy and the samurai, that's it. We were just protecting ourselves."

"Once again, I don't believe you."

"There's a bunch of us out there in six different directions. There was a lot of gunfire back home. We need to set off our charges all at the same time to confuse the dead ones away. That's good for you, too."

"No, it isn't. There's a herd heading toward Terminus right now. We don't want to confuse them away. We're gonna need their help."

"It's a compound. They'll see you coming. If you even make it that far with all the cold bodies heading over." Carol shakes her head and grabs the charges and her gun.

"Carol. How are you gonna do this?" Tyreese asks and she looks at him. "I'm gonna kill people." I rush over and wrap my arms around her. "Don't die," I say only slightly joking. She smiles before walking away.

Then we head into the cabin with Martin. I point my gun at him as Tyreese tapes his hands together. He set Judith in a box while he kept an eye on things outside. I sit down beside Judith and keep my gun trained on Martin.

"She got a name?"

"Shut up," I tell him, but he looks at Tyreese and repeats his question. "Hey, she got a name?"

"Judith." I glare at him for answering him, now he's just going to keep talking. "She your daughter or something?"

"She's a friend."

"Huh." He sighs and I look at him. "I don't have any friends."

"Gee, I wonder why?" I ask sarcastically, but he continues like I never spoke. "I mean, I know people. They're just assholes I stay alive with. The other one your friend? The woman?" Tyreese looks at him and nods.

"I used to have them. Used to watch football on Sundays. Went to church." He laughs before continuing, "I know I did. But I can't picture it anymore. It's funny how you don't even notice the time go by. Horrible shit just stacks up day after day. You get used to it."
