I'm pulled out of the truck by my arm. "Daryl?! Daryl?!" I call as he's basically kicked out of the back of the truck. He quickly gets to his feet, trying to make his way towards me only for Negan to appear and press the end of his bat to Daryl's chest. The archer looks down at the still blood-stained bat.
"Easy there, we're gonna play by my rules now. Your little girlfriend will stay with me and mine and you..." he presses "Lucille" further into his chest, making him take a step back for emphasis. "....I got a special place for you." Daryl looks from the bat to Negan, he's got that indifferent yet somehow angry look in his eyes.
Arat grabs my arm and drags me toward the building. As soon as I enter they begin steering me towards a room. "Dean! We got it done!" I freeze and look up to see Dean, from Hershel's farm. Only he seems different.
His hair is longer and his eyes are slightly darker. He's wearing a leather jacket, jeans, gun holstered at his waist. He looks away from Negan to me, his eyes flash with recognition. I see him about to open his mouth, maybe to call my name, I quickly shake my head.
These are the type of people that use ties and connections against you. Dean replaces the small joy with indifference and I nod my head. I force a fearful look for Negan's benefit as he looks back at me. "Let's chat for a minute," he says coming up to me.
Arat shoves me into a room with him, closing the door behind me. Negan sits down in a chair and gestures to the seat across from him. I stare at him fearfully, flashing back to what he did to Glenn and Abraham. "I won't hurt you unless you give me a reason to. Please, sit."
I walk slowly over to the chair before sitting down. I wrap my arms around myself. "Okay, just so we can get along, no one is going to lay a hand on you and if they try you report it to me. We're not rapists, we can be reasonable. You have free reign of the compound but don't bother trying to escape you won't get very far. You run, Daryl dies, just so we're clear."
I nod and he smiles. "Now around here you work for points, you get a certain amount of points depending on what job you're assigned but it's hell. Or you can work for me not depending on points and living the good life, or you can join my wives and I'll take care of you." I stare at him, eyes wide. "Wives? Plural?"
He smiles again, grinning widely. "I'll give you a few days to decide. For now, Dean will be your personal chaperone, teaching the ways." I almost sigh when he tells me it's Dean. I stay silent as Negan stands and heads for the door, opening it. "Congrats Dean, you're on babysitting duty."
I listen to Negan's departing footsteps. "Let's go," Dean calls and I stay sitting for a moment, feeling overwhelmed. "Are you deaf, let's go!" I turn around, glaring at him until I see Arat standing beside him. I get up and follow him out leaving Arat behind. I turn to him about to tell him how happy I am to see him, but he places a finger to his lips. "Not here, come with me."
I nod and follow him. Eventually, we make it to a room. He opens the door and beckons me inside. Once inside I look around. A simple bed is up against the wall. Dresser, bathroom, the works. "This is your room," he says to me. "My room is back in Alexandria."
"Not anymore it's not. Negan owns you and Daryl. There's no escaping once you're here." Dean gets a good look at my face and his eyes show concern. I've got a split lip along with multiple abrasions and cuts on my cheek. "Shit! What did they do to you?"
I shake my head, I couldn't care less about all this. I turn and wrap my arms around Dean, sniffling and fighting back tears. "I'm beyond happy to see you. After the herd at the farm, we all thought you were dead!"
"Nope, nearly came close a lot of times. Eventually, I found Termis but I had a bad feeling about it. So I kept moving and eventually, I ran into Negan and now I work for him."
