I crouch down with a gun watching the smoke bomb we dropped filling up the road, hiding all the cars creating the roadblock. "They didn't get out because of what we did with the truck," Tara says and I'm wondering if she's trying to convince herself more than anyone else.

Truth is that had crossed my mind. Wondering if the stunt we pulled gave the Saviors a way out. But I doubt it. Too many walkers surrounded the Sanctuary, no way they got out cause of what we did. "Even if they did, it was just a mistake," Rosita pipes up from in between us, looking down the scope of her rifle.

Kara's on my left side and Michonne's on Tara's right all our guns are raised, pointed toward the roadblock we created. "And I made one too. If I hadn't gone to the Sanctuary to kill Negan, maybe Sasha would still be alive. Maybe she would've gone herself. Maybe everything would've ended up going exactly the same way," Rosita sighs, adjusting her grip on her weapon.

"I didn't want you guys to do it, but maybe you needed to. Maybe you needed to play things out to figure shit out."

"Where the hell are they?" Michonne asks impatiently and Kara pulls strands of hair out of her face, tucking them behind her ear. "They'll be here," the young brunette assures us. The sound of an approaching vehicle caused all of us to perk up and Rosita stands. I pull the cap off the bomb causing sparks to fly out as well as smoke and toss it onto the road.

It rolls a few meters then stops covering most of the road almost like fog. We wait until the cars come to a stop right in front of it. "Now!" We open fire on the Saviors and they scramble out of their cars, desperately trying to get out of the line of fire.

I see a few go down while the rest hunker down behind their cars. They return fire, but we don't let up, keeping them pinned down. Shots go off and the Saviors start dropping. We continue firing every few moments just in case some were still alive. Another gunshot from their side goes off.

"It's over!" Dwight calls out and I grab my crossbow, motioning the others to follow. I move down onto the side of the road, crossbow raised ready to shoot, and inch my way around the car Dwight's hiding behind. I move around it and point my crossbow at him as the rest come around too. Tara points her silencer down at Dwight's face.

She drags the gun near him backwards with her heel and Rosita bends down to grab it. "I made sure you guys could get out the back. I drove the convoy right up to the roadblock. I knew what it was." I lower my weapon and Kara does the same.

"I can't go back. One of em got away. She's gonna tell them."

"How'd they get out? Was it what I did?" I ask gruffly needing to know if my impulsiveness caused all this to happen. "Eugene." We stare at him as we let the information sink in. "I can still help you. I know how they work, how Negan thinks. I want you to win. I want Negan to die. We can settle up after."

I stare down at him trying to keep my anger in check. Pushing all those memories of my time at the Sanctuary to the back of my mind. All the humiliation, pain, and mental suffering I endured while Negan rolled around with my wife. I clench my jaw and curl my hand into a fist before marching forward. I grab onto the collar of my vest that has been on his back since Negan kidnapped us and dragged us to the Sanctuary.

I roughly yank it over his head and arms making him cry out in pain when it passes over his injured arm. I turn and walk away, Michonne had been collecting the Saviors weapons while Dwight talked. "We have to get back - now," she says behind me. Kara appears at my side and I look over at her. She gives me a small smile and I try my best to return it.

When we make it back to Alexandria Michonne takes us to a manhole that leads to the sewers, knowing that's where Carl and the others will be. I crouch down and lift the heavy metal up, sliding it out of the way. I watch Kara lower herself in and climb down the latter, following after her when she's clear.
