I'm standing in a field with all three communities together wearing different colored bands on their upper arms. I check my gun as I listen to the chatter around me. "Are you praying?" I hear Aaron ask and look up to see him beside his husband.

"Always meant to start," he says sharing a smile with Aaron. "Better late than never." That's when something is being held in front of my eyes. My eyes focus and I realize it's armor. I look and see its Jerry that's holding it out to me. I like him, he's so upbeat. "Here. Over your sternum."

"No, I'm going back with Maggie after," Enid replies as he's holding one out to her as well. I smile and accept mine, slipping it on. "Dude. Sternum." She stays silent and he gives her a not at all stern look. "Duuuude." She sighs and takes the armor from him, putting it on.

We all get in our cars and head out, time to declare war. I get in with Maggie and so does Enid. We drive to the Sanctuary and drop out getting our guns ready. I stand beside Maggie and Rick, holding my gun tightly. We lift our guns into the air after Maggie gives the signal and start firing off a few rounds.

We stay silent and eventually the door opens and Negan comes out along with his lieutenants. "Well, shit. I'm sorry. I was in a meeting." I glare at him and really hope that I'm there when he dies. "I see you got your little mudflaps with ya," he says gesturing to all the other people.

"So I'm not exactly feelin' a reason for us to try throwin' lead at each other. I care about my people. I don't want to just march them into the line of fire because I want play “my dick is bigger than yours.” It is. We both know it. But I'm also comfortable enough to accept the fact if it wasn't. I'm certainly not gonna let my people die over that shit like you're about to."

I look and see Eugene standing beside him, fucking traitor. "So, Rick, what the hell can I do for you?" Rick points to the people standing with Negan, calling out their names one by one. "Dwight. Your name's Simon. You're Gavin. And you..."

"Regina," she says and Eugene speaks up. "Rick, I'd feel remiss if --"

"No. I know who you are. Listen, you five.
The Saviors inside. All of you have a chance to survive here. To survive this. Y'all can live if you surrender. Can't guarantee it any time but now. Right now."

"So they surrender and you and your little piss patrol doesn't kill them. That sounds like a good deal! What about me, Rick?"

"I told you. Twice. You know what's going to happen."

"I do. I do know what's gonna happen. You don't. You have no idea the shit that's about to go down. Let me ask you something, Rick. Do you think you have the numbers for this fight? You don't. Simon?" That coward walks out and I sigh. "Of course that's where he went," Jesus says.

"What do you have to say to Rick and the piss patrol, Gregory?"

"The Hilltop stands with Negan and the Saviors. Any resident of the Hilltop who takes up arms or who supports this ultimatum against the Sanctuary or any of the Saviors, for that matter -- they will no longer be welcome in the colony."

I stare at this dip shit in disbelief, no way can he do that. Maggie's more of a leader than he will ever be. "And?"

"Their families will be thrown out and will be left to fend for themselves."

"And?"

"Go home now. Or you won't have a home to go back to." Maggie turns and looks at her people. "You do what you need to do."

"All I have at the Hilltop are a bunch of books and an old lobster bib." I smile and give Jesus a mini hug. He laughs quietly and hugs me back. "You heard the man. Go back to separating wheat and shit or whatever the hell it is you people do."
