The interview that JDS and LM did recently is yet another slap in the face.

The first thing I want to address is the fact I've see a few people getting mad at DreamWorks and Netflix because the didn't stop JDS and LM from trashing the series despite the fact they couldn't do anything about the situation until their contracts expired but that is also what JDS and LM want to happen. They want revenge for being let go for having a toxic work environment.

Second, the more JDS and LM run off their mouths off the more in favor this is for everyone else involved. The more they say the more they make it clear that they don't give a crap about the franchise or its fans, but the more they reveal their real colors. Companies are less likely to hire them on, but we're more likely to get a retcon of at least the eighth season.

What I really want to talk about is the fact Lance from VLD is an absolute creep.

I knew that Lance from VLD was a pervert and this idea that he "grew up" was a lie; no, seriously, Lance is a ladies man despite what his mother said as he loves flirting with the girls, but we can't say that behavior stopped because there was never a situation after a certain point where he was in a position he would be tempted to flirt with girls.

We also knew Allura doesn't really love him. Seriously, she was in a very low place and desperate for anybody to love her and jumped at the first chance, but Lance made her feel super uncomfortable with the first kiss and the second we couldn't see whether she was or not. She says she loves him after getting mind raped by a shadow creature, but she is hands down manipulated into the relationship. Seriously – Lance and Romelle did not tell her it was a date when she agreed.

We also know Lance sees Allura as a prize. He cares more about his happiness than hers, but even guilt trips her into apologizing for how she felt because of how it made him feel, but he also says he loves her for her pain. What he feels is lust, but we all know he fell in love with her first and foremost because of her beautiful face, but he also knew she was at a vulnerable place and cared more about winning her.

And no, Lance isn't the victim of toxic masculinity. He is the perpetrator. He is a narcissist who wishes to be number one and have everyone worship the ground he walked upon, but when they don't he lashes out at them. Keith is one of his prime targets for bullying, yet Lance stans claim it was Lance who was the victim. Yeah, one of the tactics a narcissist uses is to play the victim, but all of Lance's "confidence issues" – they're fake as well.

No, seriously, they are.

Well, things get worse. We all knew that the pairing between Lance and Allura actually managed to top that of Edward and Bella from Twilight in regard to cringe factor, but we now realized it almost had a Jacob Reneseme with Lance raising her from a baby and pretty much getting to groom her into the perfect "Mrs. Blue" for his older self. Who cares what Allura wants and needs so long as Lance gets what he wants?

It can't possibly get worse, right?

Except, does anybody remember how some people noticed Lance's sister Rachel looks like Allura? No, seriously, give Allura black hair and blue eyes and you've got Rachel. (In some versions her eyes look blue.) Does anybody remember how Lance told Allura he would be her family rather than more than that? And now he's supposed to be raising her from a baby? And let's not forget how Lance got compared to Alfor even though he is nothing like her?

Oh yeah, I went there.

I'm talking about some negative connotations in a children's show. Worse, these connotations regarding Lance's character didn't exist until season seven. You know, season seven where Allura miraculously falls head over heals for Lance. Season seven which took place after a bunch of writers quit during season six? We can honestly only blame JDS and LM for this mess.

Lance from (DouT), I find myself loving him even more. Lance from (VLD), I can't. Not as he is with the character progression he got.
