So – I found myself looking forward to the 2020 movie for the Digimon Adventure series and I don't know how I feel about the Digidestioned giving up their connections with the Digimon because they're becoming adults and are children no longer. This shifts the story narrative majorly into the realm of growing up and letting go of ones childhood, yet none of the other Digimon series touched upon this concept.

It feels like season one Digidestioned are getting jilted yet again, not to mention this is a direct contradiction of the ending to season two where the connection still exists, which isn't a bad thing given the ending resulted from a toxic work environment where the Director and Producer who weren't the original creator tried acting like they were, but then I tossed the epilogue out already – even the "ending" of season two which paints Davis as a special snowflake.

The theme isn't a bad one mind you, but doesn't quite feel in line with other Digimon series where we've seen adults with their adult partners. The Digidestioned forgetting about their time as Digidestioned because they're becoming adults and purposefully choosing to move on makes more sense – with Kari and Tai of course being some of the few who struggle given their actual connection to the Digital World.

Of course, I've not had the chance of seeing it yet.
