Voltron: Legendary Defender - Keith is Galra Theory

The theory that Keith is Galra or part Galra has become rather popular. The first problem with the theory lies with the fact when it first came out, a lot of the people writing for the theory, or at least on the site I've been reading Voltron fanfic on, wrote stories where Keith knew he was Galra and had the Altean camouflage ability, not explanation what so ever.

The second problem stems from where the theory came from. 

Question: Why is Keith able to use Galra tech, but no one else is without a Galra arm?

Answer: The question makes an assumption based on the fact Keith's been the only one shown to use Galra tech with his own physical had, but it's also based on people not paying attention. 

For example, when Shiro uses his prosthetic arm, he is either attempting to power up a Galra device, or he is using his arm as a device to allow Pidge to access the Galra computer information. Keith's not done that. Outside of this, all Keith is doing is pushing a button, something anybody else on the team could do. Yes, the button had a hand print on it, but that doesn't make the device a hand scanner. The times we have seen a hand scanner was when the Galra hand was used, and there was a rod of light that traveled up and down the hand scanning to make sure said hand had the proper authority to use said hand scanner. What Keith pushed simply lit up. There was no strobing light going up and down the device.

The other place this theory comes from is how come Keith heard the signal when nobody else did? The blue lion though is not Galra tech, but Altean, so if Keith hearing the signal has any ties to him being alien, he would theoretically be Altean, not Galra. Yes, Zarkon says he wants the lions returned to them because he feels Voltron belongs to the Galra empire, but he's also an egotistical bastard. Add to this, if there is anything to what he said, it means that there either used to be an alliance between Altea and the Galra, and the pilots were likely of various species. 

Or, the Galra and the Alteans are the same thing. In the original series the Galra empire experimented on other aliens, mutating them, so it's not a far off assumption they would have done the same to themselves. For those who don't know, the Alteans used to look more like space elves, and the ones looking like space elves were Galra. Zarkon also looked more beast-like than his current form. The staff are trying to think as fans on this project, and there is logic to this particular change.

That said, as my brother put it during our debates on whether Keith would have alien blood - it is fun to work with - there is no actual evidence. My brother kindly reminded me that Keith finding it can be explained by him simply having strong psionic connections. One of the theories out there is humans will start to develop psionic abilities, particularly if we head out into outer space. So, while the theory is fun, there is an overly simple explanation for why Keith is able to find the series. There are actually a lot of simple explanations.
