Why do I not want Matt and Sora to get together in the reboot of 2020?
Truth is, I don't have an issue with the pairing itself or the fans who want the pairing to become canon. The problem is said pairing isn't the pairing the original creator wanted for the series but was the pairing the person who claimed to be a creator for the series wanted, yet said person had the audacity to claim said pairing was planned from the very beginning when it wasn't.
I mean, evidence shows they didn't even know they would be getting a second season until later, but we're talking the same person who likes discrediting the movies because he didn't work on them and thus they can't be canon despite the fact the first Digimon movie actually came before the television Anime. We're talking a person who utilized American's ignorance regarding the fact he wasn't considered an original creator to his advantage to play up the idea Matt and Sora was planned all along.
As for the actual original creator of Digimon, sadly, we've not heard from him. Why would we when the fake creator kept claiming he knew more about the poor guys creation, right?
Of course, there are fans who don't understand exactly what the issue with Matt and Sora getting together is due to the fact they were oblivious to the toxic work environment the fake creator created which led to a good chunk of the team leaving Adventures for Tamers half way through which resulted in the disconnect between the later half of the sequel series and the first part. It's not the pairing itself, but what the pairing represents – the squashing of the original creators creative process so someone else could put their own headcanon into place.
That's why I can't support Matt and Sora in the reboot, but from what I've read up on the first three episodes the series is actually rushed. Since it's available for free on MAL, I'll get myself caught up with the episodes and see how well things are going, but the fact Matt and Tai's Digimon is already forming their ultimate form within the first three episodes – that sounds rushed.
