'Finally! College na' Mara thought to herself as she wore her favorite long sleeved turtle neck na regalo pa sa kanya ng kanyang favorite cousin na si Maurice Samaniego. Well, Maurice is her only cousin.
First day of college, new school, new environment, new classmates.
'Schoolmates na kami ulit!' she cheered.
She smiled because of the thought. Finally, magkakasama na ulit sila sa iisang school.
"Hello! Earth to Mara? Are you still there, sis?" she blinked several times when she heard her friend's voice.
Yana Sy-Samaniego, one of the Samaniego wonders and nope, they're not cousins. She is a Fuentes kaya naging pinsan nya si Maurice dahil Fuentes ang nanay neto na kapatid ng ama niya.
"Yes! I'm just excited!" She cheered which is true. Lahat naman ata ng freshmen ay excited sa unang araw ng pasukan.
"I know! Finally! College na tayo! We can do anything we want na kasi we are college na!" wika ni Yana habang patalon-talon pa.
She smiled. Looks like she isn't the only one who's excited to their upcoming school year.
"Yan! I have to go! I'll be late. See ya' sa canteen!" paalam ni Mara.
It's already 8:24 am at 9 o'clock ang first class niya. Matapos ay mabilis nyang tinungo ang education building.
'deep breath, Mara. inhale, exhale.. okay, let's go!'
Pagbukas nya ng pinto ay agad syang sinalubong ng titig ng kanyang mga kaklase. She felt uncomfortable but she shrugged it off, baka kasi di lang sila magkakakilala.
Ilang sandali pa ay dumating na ang professor nila sa unang klase, they were asked to introduce themselves and she is more than happy to do so. She wants to have friends too!
"I'm Lalaine Lopez, but you can call me Ley, I'm 19. I, uh, umm, Full Scholar ako dito and I have a part-time job in a convenience store outside the school. I am an orphan but I am not ashamed of that because even without all the money I reached this part of my life with my own sweat." Namamangha nyang tinignan si Lalaine.
'Ang galing naman niya.' she thought to herself.
Marami pang nagpakilala ang finally, it's her turn. Mara faced her classmates with a wide smile and started introducing herself.
"Hi! I'm Maria Agatha Fuentes but you can all call me Mara, I'm 19 years old. I love singing but my voice is a bit bad, I also write poems and such. I hope we become friends!" She said smiling.
"I've heard she's Andrei's friend and she's Yana's bestfriend!"
"Close sya sa mga Samaniego. She's Mau's cousin."
"di naman kagandahan."
napayuko nalang sya sa narinig. Ayan na naman sila.
After their introduction ay iniwan na sila ng prof. nila at hinayaang i-enjoy ang first day of class kaya naisipan nyang i-text ang kanyang soul sister na si Yana, one of the Samaniego Princesses. Well, there are only two and the other one is considered as the princess of darkness.
Good thing at maaga din itong pinalabas ng prof. nila kaya naisipan nilang magkita nalang sa canteen ng school. She is familiar with the place. She used to stay here kahit nung highschool pa siya dahil na rin sa pag-ma-may-ari ito ng mga Samaniego.
"Hala!" She blurted ng may mabangga syang poste.
"Tsk." Rinig nyang sabi ng poste.
"Hoy!" She shouted kaya napatingin sa kanya ng post-tao pala na nabangga niya. May hawak itong gitara at may naka-paslak na lollipop sa bibig.
