Chapter 15: A Chance or a Lie

"Tanya," said the girl in front of him. She held out her hand and he took it out of respect. There was a big frown on her face and it looked like she was the least happy to see him.

"I remember you now. You are her friend."

She drew her breath.

"So I guess I can assume that I was right. The girl earlier, it was Belle, am I right?" he sneered. "Do you have any idea how Keun Suk tried to find her? Who would have thought we'll just find you here in Japan. The irony... really unbelievable."

"Listen," she was saying when all of a sudden her phone rang. "Excuse me," she was so uneasy and took the call. "Yes, I saw him... Don't worry about it. I'll be there in a few minutes.... Ok, look after her," she said and turned the call off. She let out a heavy sigh again and looked at him.

"Listen, I don't know why you are still here BB Oppa, but can you just forget what happened? You didn't see us here today. Please?" she pleaded but it doesn't sound like one, more like an order from her.

"And how can I forget something that I just saw?" he asked. He wanted to laugh sarcastically. He can't believe how selfish this girl is, even Belle. "You don't assume I'll do that just because you said so. Actually, I think Keun Suk have the right to know so I'm going to call him. Now!"

"Please, I beg you. I beg you," rubbing both hands infront of him as if in a prayer.

"Why? Why are you hiding from us. Do you even have any idea how hard it was for Keun Suk when Belle left? He was devastated. He searched every where, if he could even turn the world up side down to find her, he would have but in a blink of an eye, she was gone like she never existed in the first place. I saw them that day she left, they look so good and happy together... but she just left him like that. Do you have any idea how hard it was for him? Those 3 days, were what's keeping him together this past year."

"It was for Belle too," she blurted out.

He saw her blinking back the tears in her eyes but his hands was curved in a fist, trying to maintain his calm. "Then why? I see no reason why they can't see each other and finish what they have to finish. I think Keun Suk deserve that much. After all he loved her sincerely."

"I understand but before you decide to call him, please see her first... but just so you know, she's not the same Belle you used to know," she said wiping a tear that escaped in her eyes.

Kurt followed Tanya to a family restaurant famous for their seafood dishes. He remember coming there one time with friends after a rehearsal for their concert. Tanya kept on glancing around as if she was so uneasy. When they reached the second floor, a girl waved at them and Tanya nodded.

"That's Abby," he heard her spoke. He remembered the girl as well on their skiing trip in Bankei. She had the same expression as Tanya, worry and fear was in her eyes.

Sitting in front of Abby was Belle. Her back against him, her hair cut short but she still looked like the Belle he last saw a year ago at the hotel. She was scanning her phone and seem to be so engrossed and didn't even notice when they arrived.

Abby swallowed hard and cleared her throat, it made Belle look at her and then at them. She was wearing reading glasses and it made her look smart and cute.

Belle looked at him, her eyes narrowed then looked at Tanya who was standing beside him as if asking for an introduction or an explanation. His brows form a single line.

"Ahh, Belle..." Abby beat him into speaking first. "ahh..." she kept on hesitating.

"Belle, this is BB... Kurt," Tanya continued introducing him.
