Chapter 1: Eyes That Shine

Slap! Keun Suk was surprised when a slap just suddenly landed on his cheek. He was looking at Mrs Jang and she so enraged at that moment to the point where her curly hair are turning even more permed.

Keun Suk hardly had any sleep. He went straight home from the airport around three in the morning but he kept on thinking of Belle whether or not she was safe in her flight back to the Philippines that is why he wasn't able to get some sleep. A lot of plans were coming into his mind including the future he had envisioned for them, the next thing he realized the sun was already up and sleep has totally abandoned him.

Then his Mom came, looking mad than ever and when she saw him, her hand suddenly landed on his left cheek.

"Mom," all he managed to say while massaging his now red cheeks.

Mrs Jang has never raised her hand on Keun Suk, not ever, just this once, she must be really mad, it left Keun Suk dumbfounded for a moment.

"Where have you been? How could you leave without telling anyone where you are going? and how could you go back to that woman when she did nothing but hurt you?" Mrs Jang's beautiful face was so red. She looked like a dragon about to spit fire on him. But her anger was something he could understand, what surprised him was the last thing she said.

So she already knew about Belle, he thought.

"What do you mean Mom?" he asked.

"You think I don't know? You're going crazy over that woman again and then what? She's going to leave you again and you'll be left crazy looking for her wherever in the world she is hiding. Is that it?" she said fuming.

Mrs Jang has been there for him during those times when he felt lost. The times when he was depressed, when he kept on searching for Belle but couldn't find her. She never left his side, she's one of the reason he hang on and was able to live through the pain.

"Mom, hear me please," he begged his mom to calm down. He took her to the living room and let her settle on the sofa. "First, I'm really sorry for leaving without saying a word," he started.

"That's one thing," snapped his mom. "How irresponsible of you. What if something happened to you, we'll never know, is that it?"

"Mom, calm down. I am perfectly fine and you know I can take care of myself," he assured her.

"Still but don't you dare do that again."

"I know, I promise," he said smiling at his mom, her expression seemed to have soften a bit.

"Ok but know that your banned from leaving the country again, unless its for work," she told him, "further more, you're not allowed to see that woman again," then she added.

"Mom, she's got a name and it's Belle."

"Doesn't matter since you're not seeing her again," she hissed.

"Mom, I love her."

"Enough Keun Suk. I am not letting you go crazy again and end up hurting over a woman who isn't even worthy of you," his mom protested.

"You don't even know her. If you'll just give her a chance, you'll like her," he continued pleading his mom. He can't give up not now when everything is okay between him and Belle.

"What's there to know? I've seen enough of what she did to you and I've heard enough to know that she's not the right one for you," she reproached.

"And who told you? BB? Oh, I know Na Young right?" he looked flabberghasted.

"It's you who showed me how she is not the right one for you... and I will not allow you to meet her again and its my decision," said his mom.

Keun Suk could just look at his Mom as she left the room and went out of his house. He was left to think of what just happen and at his Mom's ultimatum. But his heart couldn't accept it and he will definitely not accept it. He will do whatever it takes to have his mom accept his love for Belle, whatever it takes.
