A week had passed since Marshall and Proof went and took care of the Ashton problem. I was happy to have my necklace back, though I was still sad that I didn't have the money I saved up. I had turned Ashton's old room into Marcela's room, so now her and Emi both have a real bed to sleep on. I hung up all of her clothes as well, and set up my extra lamp in the room as well on the nightstand.

Anyhow, I got dressed this morning in a pair of black leggings and a red tank top that hung passed my butt just a little. I then threw on a pair of boots, before throwing my hair into a messy pony tail. I got Emi dressed in a similar outfit, except her tank top was pink, and Marcela matched us, but with a blue tank top.

"I'm going to check the mail real quick, I'll be right back." I said, and Marcela nodded.

I walked down to my mailbox and opened it, finding a few pieces of mail inside. One was a letter from my brother, which I was definitely going to read once I got inside. I then seen a letter from my landlord. I threw away the junk mail, before throwing the two letters on the kitchen table. I opened the letter from the landlord, and skimmed over it. In big red letters, it read:

You have missed your rent by one week. You have one week to pay your rent, before you will be evicted.

I felt my heart drop, knowing I didn't have my part-time job right now, since Bridget hasn't been at work, so Sally has been working in my place, and I'm supposed to fill in for Bridget, but I've had the girls to care for without Ashton, and I don't feel like I should ask Marshall for help after he helped get rid of Ashton. Anyhow, as I was scanning over the letter, I heard a knock on my door. I walked over and looked through my window to see Marshall, Hailie and Lainie. I opened the door, before both girls wrapped their arms around me then ran off to Emi's room.

Marshall came inside like he had been for the last week, checking the locks on the windows and doors each day, making sure Ashton hadn't tried to break in or anything. Matter of fact, Marshall had gotten my locks changed as soon as he and Proof got back from beating up Ashton. Anyhow, I opened my fridge and grabbed a bottle of water. When I closed the door, I was startled when I seen Marshall standing in front of me with a paper in his hand. I quickly realized it as the letter from my landlord, making me fiddle with my fingers nervously.

"Why didn't you tell me you were late on your payment? I could've helped you pay it this month, since you're settling everything with Ashton and all this mess." Marshall asked, and I sighed.

"I didn't want to ask you for help, especially after you practically put yours and Proof's lives in danger for me last week." I replied, and he rolled his eyes.

"That's bullshit. You know I'm here to help. I told you that when-" He started, before I heard screaming.

"Kori! Kori!" Marcela screamed, and I quickly dropped my water bottle.

Marshall and I took off running to Marcela's room, finding her crying and clutching my phone. I looked at her confused for a moment, wondering why I hadn't heard my phone ring. She ran over to me and wrapped her arms around me while sobbing.

"Y-Your phone was ringing, and I-I seen it was M-Mom. I-I answered it, and she thought it was y-you. Once s-she knew it was me, s-she kept apologizing for being a bad m-mom, before saying she l-loved me. S-She said to be g-good for you, then s-she said goodbye and hung up." Marcela cried, and my blood ran cold.

"Did you try calling her back?" I asked, and she nodded.

"It went straight to voicemail." She whimpered, and I breathed shakily.

"Marshall, can you watch them for a minute? I need to run down there right now. " I asked quickly, and Marshall nodded.

"Get down there as fast as you can. Call the police on your way." Marshall stated, and I nodded.

I took off running to my car, before calling the police. I told them what had happened and that I was driving so I needed to hang up. They told me they'd meet me there, so I knew they were close. I raced my way down there with my emergency flashers on. Once I got there, police and an ambulance were there, and I knew something was wrong. I quickly got out of my car and ran over towards them. The cop blocked my path, and held me back from the door.

"Wait! I need to go in there! My friend is in there! I need to know if she's okay!" I cried, and the cop held me back.

"Ma'am, you need to stay out here." The cop stated, and I felt defeated.

I needed to know if Bridget was okay. I didn't want to be left in the dark, I really needed to know. I held my breath as I seen a few cops walking out, before one EMT came out, then two more came out. My heart dropped, as I did as well, when the two EMTs were pulling a gurney, but Bridget's body was covered from head to toe.

"Ma'am, we need you to confirm that this is the body of Bridget Lopez." The EMT said, and I nodded.

I walked over and they uncovered the body. I cried harder once I seen it really was Bridget.

"Yes, this is her." I stated, before I was allowed to walk away.

"Ma'am, in her letter, she had a paper stapled to it, giving you custody of her daughter Marcela Lopez. If you sign this paper, her name will be changed to your last name and she will be in your custody." The police officer stated, and I nodded.

I signed the paper, before he gave it to a man who also signed the paper. He must have been a judge, since he had signed the judge part.

"You may come get Marcela's things and any of Bridget's things you want tomorrow morning." The judge said, and I nodded.

I then was allowed to leave. I didn't want to go home though. I was scared of Marcela's confrontation. I was scared of the any confrontation or questions. But, for a fact, I was scared of being a bad parent...
