Tonight was the night before the One Direction concert. The girls were so excited, Marshall, not so much. He really despised boy bands, but he was willing to go for his daughters. Honestly, that's the sweetest thing a father could for his daughters.
"Let's get some sleep. I need as much sleep as possible before going through that hell tomorrow night." Marshall stated, and I giggled.
"Well, it's storming, so maybe you'll sleep good. Besides, you were the one that said you'd go." I commented, and he sighed.
"I'm only going to protect you and my girls." He replied, and I nodded.
"I know, and your girls, as well as mine, really appreciate that. Even if you'll look like you're going to die." I answered, and he sighed.
"I hope my girls see how important they are to me, all four of them. I'm just glad Whitney isn't old enough to like stuff like that yet. I kind of wish Emi and Hailie weren't either." Marshall said, and I smiled.
"At least your girls will have their Daddy with them, so no one but the boy band can even talk to them." I commented, and he nodded.
"Yeah, and everyone better stay away from them. I don't need to beat up boys who try to flirt with Cela." He replied, and I giggled.
"Go to bed. You're acting like tomorrow would be her first date." I said, and he shook his head.
"She's not dating for at least ten more years, and that's the least amount. Now, I'll go to bed." He retorted, before wrapping his arm around my waist.
I laid down and listened to the sound of the rain hitting the window. I heard the wind whistling and, watched as the walls lit up with each strick of lightning. I sometimes heard rumbles of thunder follow the lightning, if it wasn't too far away. As I listened to the storm, I slowly fell asleep.
*****
I woke up to what sounded like crying. I knew it wasn't Whitney, since the baby monitor was right next to my head. I looked at the clock and seen it was one in the morning. I groaned in frustration, before slipping out of bed. About the time my feet hit the ground, a crying scream rang through the house. I sprung up from the bed, seeing the scream woke Marshall as well, before I exited the room. I heard the cries coming from Cela's room, which surprised and worried me. I looked back and seen Marshall was following me. I opened her door, and seen she was crying, but she was also asleep. I walked over to her bed, sitting down slowly, trying not to scare her. I looked over at Marshall, and seen he looked as panicked as I did.
"Cela. Cela, baby. Wake up." I cooed, as I shook her shoulder lightly.
Slowly she woke up, and as soon as she seen me, she wrapped her arms around me. She sobbed into my chest, as I held her close. I ran my fingers through her hair, trying to calm her down.
"Cela, what happened baby?" I asked, and she looked up at me.
"I-I had a bad dream." She replied, as Marshall walked over.
"What was your dream?" He asked, and she looked at him with sad, scared eyes.
"In the dream, you and M-momma left me. I-I mean K-Kori." She stuttered, and I sighed with a smile.
"You can call me Momma, Cela. It's okay." I said, and she nodded.
"Now, with the dream, you don't need to worry. Momma and I aren't going to leave you, not now, not ever. Now, it's one in the morning. You should try to get some rest for you concert tomorrow." Marshall stated, and Cela nodded.
She laid back down, and covered up. Marshall kissed her head, before walking out of the room. I rubbed her arm soothingly one last time, before kissing her head, and walking towards the door.
"No! Please don't go!" She exclaimed, and I looked over at her.
"Are you okay?" I asked, and she shook her head.
"No. Can you lay with me until I fall back to sleep?" She asked, and I nodded.
I laid down in bed with her, before she curled her body into me. I held her to me, running my fingers through her hair slowly, waiting for her to fall asleep. The storm didn't seem to be weakening, if anything it was getting heavier, which meant heavier rain, and most of the time, better sleep. About thirty minutes later, Cela was asleep, and I was able to sneak back to my room. Marshall and I had been going back and forth to each room for about two weeks, before he decided his room was permanent, and that was where we were both going to sleep. So, I had to move all my stuff in there, and leave my brand new bed. Marshall and I did discuss that though, and decided that once Cela was a bit older, she could have my old bed. Anyhow, I went back into our room and laid down, covering myself up, before Marshall wrapped his arm around my waist again.
"Is she asleep?" He asked, and I sighed.
"Yeah, took a minute though." I replied, as I watched the lightning light up the room.
"I hope she'll stay asleep. Not that I want her to have nightmares and not let us know, I just don't want her to have a rough night's sleep before the concert, or really any night at all." Marshall said, and I nodded.
"I know, but I think with everything going on, she's probably just having time to think about her mother being gone." I commented, and Marshall nodded as well.
"Well, she'll always have us. How do you feel about her calling you momma?" He asked, and I smiled.
"She's my girl, even if it was through adoption. I love her like my own, and no matter what, she'll always be my daughter. How about you? How do you feel about Emi calling you daddy?" I asked, and he sighed.
"Honestly, I was a bit shocked at first, but I realized that I loved it. I love her like my own, as I do Cela as well. They're my girls, even if it's through meeting you. You're my girlfriend, and those are our girls. All five of them." He stated, and I smiled.
I had never felt more like a complete family in my whole life...
