Today was my two months scan, and since Proof knew, he decided to watch Whitney for us. I had told Marshall to come to the doctor with me, saying something about test results or something. He didn't know the real reason, but he said he'd come for support when it's test results. I was honestly scared and excited, wanting to know what Marshall's reaction would be.
"We have to be there in like an hour, so go ahead and get ready." I told Marshall, and he nodded.
I threw on a pair of white skinny jeans, a black tank top that said "Beautiful" on it, as well as a pair of combat boots. I then grabbed my purse, before Marshall and I headed out to his truck, after we said goodbye to Proof and Whitney.
"Are you nervous about your test results?" Marshall asked, and I nodded.
"Yeah, I don't know what could happen, ya know?" I replied, and he smiled.
"Well, no matter what, I'll always be here for you." Marshall said, and I smiled as well.
I felt my heart swell, hoping that's how he would feel after he knew the news. I was also nervous about telling the girls. I wasn't sure how they would react, but I hoped they were at least happy. Anyhow, once we arrived and I signed in, I had Marshall sit down as I told the receptionist lady to let the doctor know it was a surprise for Marshall. The receptionist happily told the doctor, before I went and sat down.
"Miss Winston?" The nurse called, before she brought Marshall and I back into a room.
"So, how have you been feeling?" She asked, and I shrugged.
"Same as before, but I'm not crazy yet, ya know?" I replied, and she laughed.
The nurse left the room, as Marshall and I sat and talked. Since Whitney learned Mama and Dada, she has since learned no, yeah, food, and hi. She's also gotten better at running around, unlike before. Soon, the doctor came in, with a big smile on her face.
"So, have you told him?" She asked, and I shook my head.
"Told me what?" Marshall asked, and I smiled slightly.
"Well, I brought you here to show you something. I found out two weeks ago, and you're going to see what I'm talking about now." I stated, before laying on the table.
The doctor set up the ultrasound, before turning the screen to show Marshall.
"There's your baby. It's growing healthy for two months. Here's your baby's heart beat as well." The doctor said, and Marshall looked shocked.
She printed out two copies of the scan, handing us both a copy, before leaving the room. Marshall looked at the scan for a moment, before looking at me. He stared at me for a moment, before a smile broke out on his face. He stood up and hugged me, before kissing me a couple times.
"This is the best surprise ever. God, I love you, Kori." He said, and I grinned.
"I love you too, Marshall." I replied, before we walked out of the room.
I set up my next appointment, before we headed home. He went inside straight to Proof with a big smile on his face, before he told him about the baby. Proof congratulated him, acting oblivious, before congratulating me as well to sell his act. Once he left, Marshall decided to get the girls early from school. He left me with Whitney, as he headed out to get the girls. About thirty minutes later, he brought them inside and had them sit down.
"So, girls, Mom and I have something to tell you." Marshall said, and I nodded.
"It's a surprise of course, so I hope you guys are excited." I added, and they nodded.
"We're having a baby!" Marshall and I exclaimed, and the girls gasped.
"Really?!" Cela asked excitedly, and I nodded.
"Yep, here's a picture from today." I said, as I handed her the scan.
She passed it down the line, before Emi handed it back to Marshall. Once we had told the girls and they were happy about it, Marshall went off to his in-home studio to call his friends and tell them. All I really had was my family, but I couldn't exactly tell them unless I was going to tell them about the other five children and Marshall as well. I don't think they'd take the news very well either, which broke my heart a little bit. I mean, I know I left for a reason, but I still missed them and wished I could tell them about things going on in my life.
"Girls, are you up for a special dinner tonight?" I asked, and they nodded.
"Pizza!" They cheered, and I laughed.
I loved pizza, and any time we had a special dinner, it was pizza. I know pizza doesn't seem very special, but when you don't actually have it often, it's a very special dinner. Anyhow, it was a few hours until dinner, so I decided to make cupcakes as well. The girls loved when I made cupcakes, so I was more than willing to make some for tonight. Though, I did plan on talking to the girls about the baby, making sure they really were happy about it, and not just trying to act happy because Marshall and I were happy.
The girls opinions always mattered to me. Even if I couldn't do anything now and we were going to have a baby either way, I'd like them to be able to talk about it and maybe I could get them to be happy about a baby. Though, the girls seemed to like the idea of another baby. I honestly was excited as well, since everyone was happy.
"Momma..." I heard Cela say, as she walked into the kitchen.
"Yeah?" I asked, and she looked a bit pale.
"Can I talk to you about something?" She asked, and I nodded.
"Of course. Are you feeling okay?" I asked, and she bit her lip.
"I-I, uh, I got my period." She replied, and I grinned.
"That's awesome. I'll pick you up some supplies later, okay?" I answered, and she nodded as I hugged her.
I seen Marshall standing behind us, with wide eyes, looking like a deer in the headlights. One of his girls is growing up, but more were being added to the family as well...
