Today felt different. I felt like something bad was going to happen. I had the feeling in my heart since I woke up this morning. I told Marshall, but he said to try and not think about it. I did try, but it never went away. Matter of fact, I tried to be more careful with everything I've been doing today. I had gotten the girls to school and have been taking care of Whitney all day, with the feeling of butterflies in my tummy, which was now three months along. I could now see a bump beginning to grow.
I was excited to be having a new baby in six months. Marshall and the girls were very excited as well. Cela and I've been talking about girl things though, ya know, periods and all that stuff. She didn't like the idea of bleeding every month for a week at a time, but she knew she had to get use to it. I had also told her how Marshall was more than willing to get her whatever she needed if I was unable to, for instance, pads, tampons, meds for her cramps, and even chocolate. He knew every girl on their period wanted chocolate. So, as soon as he heard her say she had her first period, he went out and bought two big Wal-Mart bags full of chocolates.
Whitney seemed to be very snuggly today. Normally she was very snuggly and clingy when she was sick or having a bad day. For some reason, I had a feeling that she had the same feeling I've been having all day. If it was true, something wasn't right. I was worried and kept thinking about it, even though Marshall had told me to try and not think about it. Anyhow, as I was cleaning up the dishes from when Whitney and I had lunch, I heard my phone start ringing. I quickly dried my hands and looked at the screen, only to see Dre was calling me. I furrowed my eyebrows, but answered the phone anyway, knowing if Dre called, there was definitely something wrong.
K- Hello?
D- Kori? I need you to get down to the hospital.
K- What? Why?
D- Something happened to Proof. Em needs you, and you need to get there quick.
K- Alright, I'm leaving in a minute.
D- Be careful. We don't need you or Whit hurt as well.
I quickly hung up my phone and shoved it in my pocket, before running to mine and Marshall's room and throwing on some slide on shoes. I picked up Whitney and brought her to the car, before quickly pulling out of the driveway. I raced down to the hospital, trying to abide by as many road laws as possible, before pulling into the parking lot. I got out of the car and picked up Whitney, before running into the hospital. 50 was waiting by the doors for me as soon as I had gotten inside.
"I'll take Whit. I'll pick up the girls from school and head back to your house." 50 stated, and I nodded.
I handed him my keys, before he grabbed Whitney and walked out of the hospital. I ran down the halls of the hospital, before I found Marshall. I slowly made my way over, as he sat with his head in his hands and blood on his clothes.
"Marshall?" I called, and he slowly looked up.
"Kori." He replied, as his voice cracked.
I walked over to him and wrapped my arms around him, holding him close to me for a moment. I could feel all of the tension and nerves in his body. I knew he was upset, and there really wasn't anything I could do for him. I just knew I had to be strong for him, since he was closer to Proof than I was. Proof was his childhood best friend, and right now he was in the hospital.
"What happened?" I asked, and he sighed.
"Drive by. They opened their window and shot him. Once in the head and twice in the chest. Proof did shoot back though, got one of the guys." He answered, and I shook my head.
"Jesus Christ. I'm so sorry, Marshall." I murmured, as I hugged him again.
More and more doctors and nurses raced into the room Proof was in, before I heard a noise I did not want to hear. The heart monitor, telling me that his heart stopped. I could feel tears swelling up in my eyes, as the doctors started CPR. The doctors stopped the chest compressions, checked for a pulse, before shaking their heads.
"Time of death-" The one doctor began, before Marshall threw a chair.
I knew better than to do anything, so I just stood there and let my tears fall for Proof and for Marshall, as Marshall let his anger out. A security guard was called, but I told him to back off, that Marshall would leave in a minute.
"Marshall." I said, as I slowly walked over.
I grasped his arm, knowing I shouldn't have once I did, because Marshall wasn't thinking clearly and he threw his hand back and smacked me across the face. I fell to the floor and held my face, as he stared down at me. I could see the regret in his eyes, but the sadness and anger still overpowered the regret he felt for hitting me.
I knew he needed to cool off, and there wasn't an easier way for him to do it, than to release his anger with throwing things and stuff. I just should've known that I needed to be careful approaching him. I remember when Jax's brother died and he had gotten really angry and when Opie and I tried to console him he threw things and hit Opie, but he felt bad later on. I should've remembered what had happened with Jax, but I didn't, and that was why I got hit...

A/N: I hope you guys liked this chapter. No, he's not going to be abusive towards her. He just accidently hit her once. Besides, she's pregnant, and he wouldn't hurt the baby. WATCH THE VIDEO IN THE MEDIA!!!!
