The next day, around noon, I was released from the hospital. Marshall had kept Emi and Marcela at his house, after he practically dragged them out of the hospital. They didn't want to leave my side, but I knew they needed to stay with him for the night. Bridget didn't call me at all, didn't even try to contact Marcela. I know she was grieving, but so was her daughter. There was no reason for her to ignore her own daughter. Anyhow, I changed into the clothes Sharonda gave me, which were very cute. They were a pair of skinny jeans and a D12 t shirt. By this time, I knew D12 was Marshall and Proof's rap group. There was a few other men in the group, but I hadn't been informed of their names yet.
Anyhow, after getting dressed, the doctor checked me over and then allowed me to sign out. I waited outside, sitting on the bench in the warm sun, as I waited on Marshall. My ribs hurt, but the doctor checked them and said they were only bruised. I honestly felt lucky that I didn't have as much damage as I thought I would've. About ten minutes later Marshall pulled up, and I was surprised to see all four girls sitting in the back seat. As soon as I took a seat in the front with Marshall, all four girls greeted me. I was happy to see them after being in the hospital over night. Marshall had brought home all my gifts and things last night, but to his house, since he didn't want to chance seeing Ashton when he had the girls with him. I did carry the bowl of brownies with me though, and as soon as I got into the car I passed the bowl around for everyone to get one.
"We're going to head to your house, but you and I are going inside first, before we bring the girls inside." Marshall stated, and I nodded.
We pulled up outside of my house, and left the truck on, whilst we stepped outside of it and headed inside of my house. Once we walked inside, I was surprised and upset. My house was destroyed, and I knew Ashton did it.
"Everything's destroyed." I said, as I walked around the house.
"That fucking bastard!" Marshall exclaimed, as we headed towards the bedrooms.
I looked inside Emi's room, and everything seemed fine. I looked inside mine, and everything was thrown around. I seen my closet was open, and I quickly ran over to it. I looked inside and gasped. The can I had that held all of the money I was saving for Emi was gone. I began to cry, knowing I had over two grand in the can. Marshall came into the room, and once he seen me he quickly came over and crouched beside me.
"He's not here. His room is empty." Marshall commented, and I put my head in my hands.
"I fucking hate him. He stole everything I saved up for Emi. I had over two grand, and he stole it. I haven't even checked my safe box to see if anything was gone." I cried, and Marshall shook his head.
"Where is it?" He asked, and I looked up at him.
"Under my bed." I replied, and he nodded.
He went over to my bed and lifted the sheets, before flashing a flashlight under the bed. He pulled the box out and the lock was broken. He brought it over to me, as I opened it and looked inside.
"He stole the diamond necklace I got from my brother." I whimpered, before Marshall punched the ground and stood up.
"You watch the girls and I'll find him. He's going to wish he never stole anything from you." Marshall stated, and I nodded.
"Please be careful and don't get arrested." I said, as I stood up myself.
"I'm bringing Proof with me. I'll have Sharonda come over and leave her kids with Proof's mom." Marshall replied, and I smiled weakly.
Marshall went outside and had the girls come in, before I told them to play in Emi's room as I made lunch for them. Sharonda came over as I was cooking, and helped me finish making the grilled cheese and tomato soup. We called the girls to eat, before her and I began to clean. We threw away all the broken glass and picture frames, as I put all the unframed pictures on the counter. We then cleaned my room, throwing away almost half of my clothes and other things that were torn or broken. The girls went back to Emi's room, before I made Sharonda and I the same lunch the girls had. As we ate, we talked about what I was going to do.
"What are you going to do with the other room?" She asked, and I shrugged.
"Probably get new bedding and make it into Marcela's room. I'm thinking she'll be here a while. It would also make it easier for when Hailie and Lainie are over." I replied, and Sharonda nodded.
"You do know Marshall and DeShaun are going to take care of Ashton for you, right? He won't be a problem after today." Sharonda said, and I sighed.
"Yeah, but I don't want them getting in trouble because of me." I commented, and she shook her head.
"Honey, Marshall cares for you. Even if neither of you see it. He won't let Ashton ruin anything. With Marshall caring for you, it automatically makes DeShaun your friend. He's going to help you out whenever you need him, as will I. You're going to be like family to us soon enough, like you are to those four girls up there. Family takes care of each other, and no matter how tough it gets, we'll always be there for each other." Sharonda stated, and I nodded smiling.
She was right, even if it took her words to make me realize it. I seen those girls as my own, I loved them as if they were. I'd do anything for them, like I would for Emi. Hell, now I'd do anything for Sharonda and Proof's kids. I felt accepted by the three of them, and I was happy. Maybe I won't have to move back to Charming with my brother...
