The apartment next door had been empty for quite some time, not that you were complaining. It was actually kind of nice. You lived in a corner unit, so your only neighbor was to the left of you instead of one on either side. That was about to change though.
Earlier that day, you heard some noises outside, rattling and thudding, so naturally you went to check it out. Peering out your window, you spotted a large moving truck parked on the curb in front of the building. You wondered who was moving in and which apartment they'd be renting.
You craned your neck to see if you could spot the newcomer, but everyone outside looked like workers from the moving company. There was, however, an infamously car parked behind the truck, but whoever drove it didn't seem to be out there.

Just as you were about to brush it off and stop being so nosey, you heard some noises next door: multiple sets of heavy footsteps, large objects being set on the floor, and some being moved around. Someone was moving in next door. Part of you wanted to go and see who it could be while the other part of you wanted to mind your own business.
You were able to hold back for a total of roughly ten minutes before you were scurrying to your front door and peeking out into the hallway. So far, all you'd seen were movers bringing in furniture and boxes, but no signs of your new neighbor.
You eventually gave up, sighing and resting your back against the front door. It wasn't exactly important to know who your neighbor was, you were just curious is all. Besides, it was kind of exciting—and you wanted to know if it was a cute guy or not. Most of the time it's not a cute guy, but a girl can dream.

Days passed and not once did you spot your illusive neighbor. Not when when you were coming in and out of your apartment or even when you went to check the mail downstairs. You were beginning to wonder if you should stop by and introduce yourself. That was the neighborly thing to do, right? Or maybe you should wait. You weren't sure yet.
Oh well. At least they weren't noisy. That's one thing you were grateful for.

Little did you know that would soon change.

You were stretched out on the couch, scrolling through your phone completely zoned out while the TV played some rerun you stopped paying attention to a half hour ago. The sudden thumping of music next door pulled you from your stupor, the ruckus followed by the sound of shoes hitting the floor.
"What the heck?" You muttered under your breath, sitting up and wondering what on earth could be going on over there.
You didn't consider yourself to be an uptight person, so you went back to what you were doing and did your best to ignore the noises, but it didn't work.
As much as you hated to do it, even if it gave you a chance to see your new neighbor, you'd have to go ask them to be a tad quieter.

Stepping out into the hallway, you made your way to your next door neighbor's apartment, hesitantly bringing your hand up to knock on the door. No answer. They probably couldn't hear over the music. You knocked again, louder this time. The thumping bass is cut off and the sound of locks being flipped sounded. The door opened.
"Hey, I'm really sorry but..." Your sentence went unfinished as you finally locked eyes with your illusive neighbor.
He was gorgeous.
"Is... is there something wrong?" He asked softly, blinking innocently.
"Your music is just a little loud." You pinched the air with your index finger and thumb. "I can hear it through the walls."
"Oh." His eyes widened, realizing you must be his neighbor. "I'm so sorry. I was just practicing, I didn't mean to disturb you. I'll turn it down."
"Practicing?" You inquired. "Do you dance?"
"I do."
"Cool." You nodded, shoving your hands into your sweatpants pockets.
"So, you're my neighbor?" He asked.
You nodded.
"I'm Hoseok." He held his hand out. "I'm glad we finally got to meet."
"I'm Y/n. I'm glad we got to meet too." You shook his hand. "If there's anything you need, I'll help out the best I can."
"Same here. Oh, and if my music gets too loud, don't be afraid to tell me."
"Thank you."
You shuffled back to your apartment in awe, unable to believe your luck. Your neighbor was hot.

The next few days were very similar. Hoseok continued to play his music loudly and you had to kindly ask him to turn it down at least once every day. He would always smile and apologize, telling you to let him know when his music got too loud, as usual.
Today was no different.
Hoseok was gorgeous, there was no doubt about it, and you liked being able to see him for just a few seconds, but the constant loud music was starting to become irksome.

You knocked on Hoseok's door like you'd done many times before and he was swift to answer, almost like he anticipated your arrival.
"Hi, it's—"
"The music is too loud again?" He asked finishing your sentence for you, already expecting your reasoning for paying him a visit.
You nodded.
"I'm so sorry. I'll turn it down—but while you're here can I ask you something?"
"Sure. What is it?"
"My window is stuck. I can't seem to get it closed. Do you think you can help me out?" He asked.
"I'm not very strong, but I can try."
"Thank you so much, Y/n." He beamed, leading you into his apartment and to the stubborn window in his living room.
You grabbed the window and braced yourself, preparing for it to be stiff and difficult to close. To your surprise, when you pushed down, it slid shut with ease and you nearly hurt yourself with the force you used to close the window.

"Are you okay?" Hoseok asked frantically.
"Yeah." You shook your hands off. "I was expecting it to be stuck, but it works just fine."
"Oh. I guess my window just hates me." He chuckled.
"Well, let me know if you need anything else." You smiled and started to let yourself out.
"Y/n, wait."
You startled slightly when you turned around and Hoseok was standing directly in front of you. There was an unusual expression on his face, his eyes rounded and soft, holding some sort of remorse, and his mouth was slightly downturned. He looked shameful.
"I've... been keeping my music loud on purpose." He admitted. "And my window wasn't stuck."
"What?" Your brows knit together. "Why?"
"I needed an excuse to see you, even if you were only telling me to turn my music down. I thought I'd eventually get the courage to ask you out."
"You... what?" The question was uttered in disbelief. "A date?"
The tips of his ears turned red with embarrassment. "I'm sorry. Just forget it." He waved his hand dismissively in the air.
"You have an odd way of getting a girl's attention." You chuckled. "I'd gladly go on a date with you."
"You would? Even after I purposefully annoyed you into coming over?"
"Yes. You're cute, so I can look past all that. Besides, I'm a little flattered that someone would go to such lengths just for my attention."
His whole face lit up at your words of acceptance. "When is the best time for you? Tonight maybe? Or is that too soon?"
"No, tonight is great. The sooner the better."
"Great. I could take you out to dinner." He suggested.
"Dinner sounds nice." You smiled. "What time?"
"Does 6:00 work for you?"
"It does." You nodded.
"So I guess I'll swing by your place?"
"Yep. I'll see you at six." You gave him a quick peck on the cheek and saw yourself out, leaving him a blushing mess in the middle of his living room.
