There was a feeling of nervousness mixed with excitement stirring in your chest as you assessed your appearance, smoothing out the fabric of your tracksuit jacket with your YouTube channel logo on it. You were playing in the National Gaming Tournament, so you had to look stylish, yet comfortable, thus why you settled on a custom tracksuit—with a matching shirt under the jacket. You snapped a photo of yourself in the mirror, tweeting it with the caption: NGT here we come!
This was a goal of yours, to make it to the tournament, even if you only attended once. That's all you ever wanted.

By the time you arrived at the massive venue, your heart was ready to thump right out of your chest. The only thing keeping you grounded were the supportive messages from your fans and viewers. You glanced down at your phone to read a few more comments on your tweet.

You got this Y/n!

It's okay if you don't win. All that matters is that you try your best!

Your fans are cheering you on! <3

A smile graced your features at the comments, some of them making you chuckle as you slid your phone back into your pocket and headed inside. The arena was huge and set up from top to bottom for the gaming tournament. You headed to one of the many computers lined up and took a seat, unpacking your equipment to hook it into the tower. As you busied yourself with assembling your setup, other gamers piled in and did the same, the seats around you filling up little by little.

"Good evening! Welcome to the 20XX National Gaming Tournament!" An announcer's voice rang through the speakers in the arena. "Please sign in to your game and get everything set up. We ask that everyone play fairly. Any cheating will result in immediate elimination."
You signed into the game that would be played that day and double-checked that everything was set up properly and ready to go. You slid your headphones on and rolled your wrists a few times, popping your neck to loosen up before letting out a long exhale in preparation.
Here we go.

You set your username as the one you used on your YouTube channel and signed into the game. You considered yourself to be moderately popular on the platform, not nearly as famous as some of the other gamers present at the competition, but that didn't matter. In truth, you were just happy to be there—ecstatic, actually. The fact that you had a small chance to win was enough motivation to chase away some of your nerves.

The competition began and every gamer in the arena was laser focused on winning, you included. Your first course of action was to hide in an abandoned building in the game and scope out the land, maneuvering your player to stand by an open window. One of the avatars came trotting by the building, too busy shooting at other players to notice you peering from the top floor of the structure you were inside of. You smirked faintly, your fingers moving swiftly along the keyboard to aim your weapon and shoot. A groan of annoyance a few computers away reached your headphone-covered ears and you chuckled under your breath.
