Sun, sand, and lots of much-needed quality time. Most of your day had been spent on the local beach with Hoseok, whom you hadn't seen in weeks. The day trip was long overdue and you made the most of it, staying out for hours on end.
The both of you decided to call it when your stomach rumbled while you two were taking a brief rest on your towels laid across the sand. Hoseok had laughed loudly, finding humor in the simplest of things—even a bodily function. "Let's head home so I can get my sunflower something to eat." He said with a beaming grin, endeared by anything and everything about you. You rolled up your towels, packing away your things and heading to the car. The windows were rolled down, the air outside hitting your face, reminding you of a summer road trip.
When you got home, you dropped your beach bag beside the bed, announcing that you'd be getting a quick shower to wash off all the sand and salt water. "I'll go head and order us some food." Hoseok said. "What do you want?" "I'm craving noodles. Maybe something spicy, but not too much." Hoseok scrolled through his phone, pulling up a menu for the restaurant he wanted to order from, listing off some things on the menu. "Yes." You spoke up when he called off what sounded good. "Order that." "Will do. Enjoy your shower."
It was nice to wash off all the salt and sand from your escapades at the beach, leaving you refreshed. You chose one of Hoseok's shirts and a pair of shorts to wear after drying off. When you returned to the bedroom, Hoseok was laid across the mattress.
"The food should be here in twenty minutes." He announced, sitting upright. His face seemed to brighten when he saw you wearing his shirt. "Look at you!" He gushed, holding his arms out. You dropped onto the bed with him, letting him pull you down on top of him. "You're so cute." He enthused in a high-pitch voice, proceeding to pepper kisses all over your cheeks, eliciting giggles from you. His onslaught of smooches halted long enough for him to stare up at you, his bright eyes filled with adoration. "I'm gonna go take a quick shower before the food gets here." "Okay." You gave a small, slightly reluctant, smile and rolled off him.
Moments later, you heard the shower turn on, followed by a tiny "Oh!" from Hoseok. Laughter spilled from you lips and you clutched your chest. "The water was too cold and surprised me!" Hoseok defended from inside the bathroom. That only made you laugh harder.
Hoseok emerged from the bathroom a few minutes later. Your throat went dry at the sight of him with a towel draped around his waist. His tanned skin was damp and glistening with residual water from the shower, his wet hair pushed back away from his face, exposing his forehead and sharp features to your appreciative gaze. "I forgot to bring clean clothes." He excused himself, walking across the room to his bag. Your eyes followed his slender form as he started digging around inside his duffle, silently admiring the way his back muscles shifted with each movement.
"I can feel you staring." He smirked, glancing over his shoulder coyly. "I'm not staring." You denied. His dry clothes were dropped onto the floor as he strode over to you, leaning above you. "You weren't?" He quirked an eyebrow, his usually playful demeanor taking a backseat. "No." You swallowed thickly, watching him lean down closer. "You're a lair." He whispered, brushing his lips against yours, making you exhale shakily. "I was admiring." You chose to tease even though your voice was wavering. "There's a difference." "Same thing." He murmured, capturing your lips in a deep and hungry kiss. You made a noise against his mouth, your arms draping around his shoulders, a hand sliding into his damp hair. The kiss became rougher as Hoseok tilted his head, slotting your mouths closer together with a soft groan. The vibration sent a shudder down your spine and a flurry of butterflies to your stomach. He tugged on your bottom lip with his teeth before parting, both of you breathing heavily. "I gotta go change, sweetheart." He said with a wink.
He pushed himself off of you and retrieved his pile of fresh clothes, heading to the bathroom to change. You let out a long sigh and covered your face with your hands, trying to recover from the dizzying kiss.
Hoseok returned shortly and laid down beside you on the bed, tugging you into his arms. "Your face is still pink from that kiss." He teased. "It is?" You asked. "Yes." He reached over and poked your cheek, causing you to hiss. "Ooh. That burned a little." "Does this hurt?" He asked, giving an experimental poke to your forehead next. "Ouch! Yes." Hoseok's eyes widened and he burst into giggles. "What?" "My poor baby is sunburned." He cooed through light laughter. "Oh no." You groaned, tugging up one of the sleeves of Hoseok's shirt you were wearing. Sure enough, your shoulders had started sporting a bright pink hue. "I told you to wear sunscreen." Hoseok said. "I did." You insisted. "I'm sorry for laughing at you." He kissed your forehead delicately. "Sunburns are no fun." "It's okay." "Stay right here. I'll help."
Hoseok got up and went back to the bathroom, searching the cabinets. He came back with a bottle of aloe vera gel. At this point, you were already sitting upright. Hoseok took a seat next to you, instructing you to pull your sleeves back up. You did as he said, watching him squeeze a dollop of gel into his palm.
"This'll be a little cold, but it'll feel better." He warned and started to rub the gel onto your stinging shoulders, the chilly sensation soothing your skin. "Okay now on your face." Hoseok applied the gel to your cheeks and forehead, steering clear of your eyes as he did so. He closed the bottle and set it on the nightstand for when he needed to reapply later. "Thanks." You smiled softly, touched at his attentive gesture. "You're welcome." There was a knock on the front door, briefly interrupting the moment. "Ah! The food." Hoseok perked up. "I'll go get it."
When he left the room, you heard the low murmuring of his voice as he talked to the delivery person while getting the food. His excited footsteps thumped softly back down the hall moments later. "I've retrieved the goods." He grinned brightly, wiggling the bag of food. "You wanna just eat in here?" "Why not." You shrugged. He used a small breakfast tray to set the bag on before pulling out containers. You popped open the lid to yours and took in the savory aroma of noodles, grabbing a pair of chopsticks. A comfortable silence settled over the room as you and Hoseok ate quietly, refueling after a fun but draining day at the beach. He swallowed his food, glancing across at you with a little pout. "What?" "My poor baby got a sunburn." He frowned. "I'll be fine." You chuckled. "It's just a sunburn." "I know, but I don't like seeing you even the slightest bit uncomfortable." "That's really sweet." "I'm gonna help take care of you. I'll apply aloe every day until you get better." "I can do that on my own, Hobi." "No." He insisted. "I want to. This is non-negotiable." "Fine." You relented with a chuckle. "Good. Just call me Doctor Hoseok." He joked, puffing out his chest.
