Jimin's stomach twisted uncomfortably as he watched you on the couch with Jungkook. Your arm was linked with his, head resting on his shoulder, using it as a makeshift pillow as you laughed at something on his phone. Jimin knew it was selfish, but he wished it was him in Jungkook's place, feeling the weight of your head on his shoulder instead. Jimin tried to drop hints, he really did, but after all the loving gestures, sweet words, and even small gifts, you still didn't notice.
"Jimin?" Your voice pulled him out of his daze, his eyes meeting yours. "Jungkook and I were gonna grab lunch somewhere. You wanna go?" The idea of eating with the two of you made his stomach twist in discomfort and he shook his head. "No, that's fine. You two go." A soft frown pulled at your lips. "You sure?" "Yeah. We could really use the company." Jungkook added. "I'm alright. You two go and have fun." A look of reluctance was shared between you and Jungkook before you got up and left.
As soon as the front door closed shut, Jimin sank further into his chair, leaning back with a sigh. He wasn't sure how much longer he could deal with this. "Jimin?" Yoongi's voice called from the kitchen. "Yeah?" "Oh." He shuffled out into the living room. "I thought you left." "No, just Y/n and Jungkook." Yoongi sighed softly, crossing his arms while staring down Jimin with a little frown, noticing his behavior. "You should've just told her how you felt." "I know." Jimin murmured, his fingers rubbing at the space between his brows. "You want me to call the guys over? We could watch a movie. That might be a nice distraction." Yoongi offered. "Sure."
Jungkook's cheeks were stuffed with food, puffed out as he chewed a large bite of steak, his brows knitted together, which meant he was enjoying it. You were seated across from him, silently admiring the heartwarming sight. His gaze lifted to meet yours and he flashed you a cute round-cheeked smile. "You're adorable." You uttered, taking a sip of your drink. He chuckled, swallowing his food before going in for another bite, but before he could spear another cut of steak, a look flashed across his features. He reached into his pocket and pulled his phone out, looking down at the screen as the device chimed. "What's wrong?" You asked him. "Uh... nothing." He muttered somewhat distantly as he typed on his phone, focused on whatever he was responding to. You chose to brush it off, assuming it was something minor that didn't need to be shared and didn't ask any more questions.
The remainder of the meal was mostly quiet and the vibes felt off, though you chose to believe it was just you making it seem that way. Jungkook's eyes were darting around the restaurant as he fiddled with his credit card, watching for the waiter to come by the table and deliver the check. As soon as the leather booklet was set down, he slipped his card inside and passed it back to the restaurant employee. His leg bounced impatiently while he watched the waiter disappear. This was odd behavior for Jungkook, as you rarely saw him in a rush. The moment his card was given back to him, he slipped it into his card holder and started getting up.
