You stepped out of your dressing room, sporting a flashy outfit your stylist selected for promotions. Your comeback was a few days prior and your schedule was loaded with variety show performances. The long hours of endless dance practices and meetings with staff all led up to this. As you made your way down the busy hallways, you accidentally bumped shoulders with someone in your haste.
"Oh! Sor—" Your apology came to a halt when you laid eyes on Kim Seokjin from BTS. "I'm sorry" He bowed. "N-No I should've been more careful." "It's fine. This hallway is packed. Good luck on your performance. Fighting!" He held up a fist in support as he walked off, probably in a hurry to rejoin his group. This was the second time you'd run into each other backstage at events like this one. Your comeback promotions just so happened to overlap with BTS', which meant you'd be seeing a lot of them in the coming weeks. Despite being an idol, you were also a fangirl, having been one well before you were scouted to be a trainee. It was that way for most idols. Fame could never change your roots. Jin was your number one celebrity crush and your BTS bias, his charming personality and comedic sense of humor was easy to fall for. You pushed out a huff of air, easing your nerves as your manager appeared and ushered you towards the stage.
Jin made it back to his seat just in time for your performance to start. He watched as you took your place center stage, taking in the sea of lightsticks before you. He wished he had spent some extra time to chat with you when you ran into each other, but you were both in a rush. The opening instrumental of your new title track played through the massive speakers strung up above the stage and you started your routine. The choreography was impressive, complicated, and had an eye-catching move that seemed to be the focal point of the chorus. Your sharp movements matched the intense back track, each one hitting on the beat. Your backup dancers moved in sync with you, adding to the performance.
Jin was entranced by the show you were putting on, his head bobbing to the beat. A quiet snicker beside him momentarily took his attention away from the stage. It was Jungkook and Hoseok. "Someone's in love." The youngest teased through laughter. "You're looking at her like she's your everything." Hoseok added. "No I'm not." Jin defended. "Right, right." He snickered.
Your song came to a close and you finished off with an ending fairy pose, holding it long enough for the camera to focus on you. The crowd erupted in cheers and you broke out into a grin, bowing and waving to the fans as you exited the stage. BTS were set to perform shortly after you, so by the time you made it backstage, they were being ushered in to prepare for their own showcase.
"Y/n." Jin called after you before you could step into your dressing room. "Yes?" "Your performance was phenomenal. The song was really good too. It's different from your usual stuff." "Thank you." That was high praise coming from a globally famous idol. "I wanted to try something new." "It was so fun. It suits you well." "Thank you. I'm excited to watch you guys, you always own the stage." "We do our best." He smiled, the tips of his ears tinted pink. His gaze flicked up and down the hall before he discreetly passed you a folded slip of paper. "What's that?" You whispered, tucking it into the belt of your stage costume. "My number." You blinked, astonished. "Really?" He nodded. "I have to go get ready, but I hope to hear from you." "Oh! Yeah of course. Good luck." You nearly stumbled over your words, giving a partial wave to him as he walked off.
