I've been surviving this Halloween party so far. I'm just chilling here at our table with my closest friends in the play.
"I'm so so happy I still look decent," parinig ni Lily kay Jace.
I'm sure, magkakatuluyan talaga 'tong dalawang 'to. Ganito na sila nung pumasok ako for the stage play. Jace and Lily? When you hear their name, you can hear them shouting at each other as well.
"Christine is the most decent among us," banat ni Calvin.
"The Phantom is not even here!" Lily exclaimed with a smirk on her face. Napatingin siya sa'kin. "That would be iconic. How about Navi?"
I gulped and shook my head. "No idea."
"Well, madali lang humanap ng Raoul d'yan." Jace grinned and slightly look around before staring at Lily again. He even wiggled his brows that made Lily's face sour.
Sana dumating si Navi. I wonder what his costume would be. He would make a pretty good Phantom except if his hair is pushed back clean. With his dark and always furious eyes, I want him to be the Phantom badly.
I'm having the time of my life sitting and watching the others dance their night out. Ngayon ko lang napansin na naiwan si Calvin kasama ko dito sa table. He's also watching the dancefloor. He should probably be interacting with everyone right now but he chose to stay.
"Why don't you enjoy the night?" I asked Calvin. "You probably won't survive if you stay by my side."
"If you would dance with me, then."
I blinked. Once. Twice. I've never thought about this. He will be the first man I will ever dance with if ever. And I'm not in the mood to dance.
Sakto namang nag-shift pabalik sa party music kaya naging magaslaw na naman sa dance floor.
"Not much of a dancer, really." I smiled with a slight shake of the head. "I'll go to the washroom."
I stood up and went straight to the washroom. I swear I don't wanna end up like Michael right now. I looked at myself in the mirror. I'm never gonna be Michael in the bathroom right now. I need to get out and face the people out there.
I am pep talking to myself when the door opened and I saw Elphaba. It's Medina. Nice. She's eyeing me once again.
"So, hello, Christine Daae," she said, stood beside me, and re-applied her burning red lipstick in front of the mirror.
She's actually one of the beautiful girls inside our classroom. She's the class president and she's also an officer of the student council like Calvin. I bet she's part of some other activities too. She's the role model every teacher would ask for. She's the perfect girl.
"You know what? I think of you as Christine. You always get what you want. Like the scene of Think of Me, capturing the heart of Raoul as well as the Phantom."
I looked at her through the mirror. "Christine didn't get what she always wanted. Not her father, Elphie."
I smiled a bit when she rolled her eyes. Lumabas na ako at naisipang kumain. Sobrang saya ng lahat sa dancefloor while I'm enjoying the last piece of brownie in my mouth. Nararamdaman ko na rin ang saya ng party na 'to.
Pasimple kong hinahanap si Navi pero parang wala talaga siya dito. I'm still hoping he'll come. My eyes are still searching every second. Kahit ano pa ang costume niya, I'll know if it is him. Kaso ayaw maniwala ng kaluluwa ko na hindi nga siya pumunta sa party na 'to. Wala namang sense ang pagpunta ko dito. He's not even here! My purpose is not even here. Pati pakialam ko, lumayas na.
