Nang makarating kami sa bahay nila, it's hella nice. It's genius. I forgot this is the first time I came in here. And in this big one, now I get how boring he gets in here alone. But this interior has the potential to be his playground as well.

We went upstairs where he has his dog.  There, in his room. Oh my god, I'm gonna get to see his room. This is making me so nervous for no reason at all.

"Welcome to my lair, miss."

Pagbukas niya ng pinto, there's a cute dog rushing towards him. Oh my god, it's too cute! It's already wiggling its own tail and ready to play with Navi. I'm melting...

"Wait, buddy, I'm gonna introduce you to someone."

The dog looked at me. Hala gusto ko na siyang iuwi... I want to have a dog too.

"His name is Parker."

Nakikinig siya kay Navi. This dog is precious.

"Parker?" I asked.

"Yeah. Peter Parker. Spider-Man." Navi looked at me with a silly smile.

"Kailan mo pa kasama 'to?" I asked, stroking its head lightly. It calmed down and laid down. It's so cute!

"Just around a year ago. Si Yeshua talaga may gusto n'yan kaso mas gusto sa'kin nito."

I chuckled. "Really?"

"Yeah. Regalo ni Dad sa kanya."

"What's your gift?"

"That one." He pointed at the white hard hat on top of his shelf. "It's his first one that my grandfather gave him. When it was first implemented."

I smiled. That's so nice, thinking how much it means to him.

"Lilipat ba yung kapatid mo dito?" I asked. "I mean school?"

"Yeah. He'll study seniors here. That guy's gonna be a chef one day."

I suddenly thought of what I would be like one day. I am feeling on and off whenever I think about college and which path to take. I'm not gonna be a doctor or engineer or a lawyer. Any of those known professions, I don't think I belong in any of that.

"I think I won't be off to college this year," I told him. "I'm thinking of taking a gap year."

"That's fine. Saka sabay tayong ga-graduate." He flashed a smile.

I roamed my eyes around his room. "You have more books than I have."

"Those are mostly my father's. Bida-bida ako dati e. Binabasa ko minsan."

Pinagmasdan ko nang buo yung bedroom niya. It's surprisingly neat. Really. And I can't stop staring at the hard hat. There, above, lies his dreams. A dream of a man which has yet to become true. Someday.

"I can't wait to see you wear that white hat, sir."

"That will be my motivation from now on. Ulitin mo nga."

I chuckled and shook my head. His bedroom is mostly gray. I noticed there's a portrait of a guitar hanging and there's also a guitar at the corner.

"Do you play guitar?"

"No. Not anymore. My mother bought that thinking my attention would divert from freerunning and start staying at home."

"Can you play for me?" I asked excitedly.

"I can't remember a single thing."

"Oh, I know you do. Just a bit. Dali na, Navi!"

"Okay, fine. Just a bit."
