Chapter 9

Sinubukan kong umiwas sa lalim ng tingin niya ngunit ikinulong ako nito sa bawat korte noon.

"Woah. Small world... magkaklase pala kayo?" Blaster interrupted our deeply stares. Adriel tilted his head at him and smirked while his hands were on his pocket.

"Yeah. She was my classmate from history class..." he uttered as he looked back at me.

"Hello, Adriel! Magpatulong ka nalang kay Blaster at Badjao sa pag-set up ng gamit mo ha..." Ate Jamie said and smiled at him but he didn't smile back as he remained his eyes pierced on mine.

Nagsimula na sila Blaster at Badjao na tulungan siya magset-up. Mula sa hindi kalayuan ay pinagmamasdan ko siya. Mukha namang mabait ang lalaking nasa likod ng maskara niya. Kung tatanggalin niya lang sana iyon ay baka mas maintindihan ko siya.

After mag-prepare ng mga kailangan namin ay kumain na kami. Habang nagluluto ng pagkain ay madalas na tumatama ang mga mata namin sa isa't-isa. Sa hindi ko malamang dahilan ay may kakaiba akong nararamdaman sa talas ng kaniyang tingin. Parang may nais itong sabihin...

I'm sure that we are all ready for the opening night. Sabay-sabay naming tinungo ang lugar kung saan iyon gaganapin. I gaped for a while. Wow. We never expect that this place will be so much ravishing as this. There are torches in every corner of the beach. The stage has these resplendent colorful lights that will enwrap your orbs.

When I faced the sky I saw the stars smiling at me with all the kindness. I smiled a little when I glimpsed its reflection on the seawater. I heard ate Jamie calling us then we followed her. I saw the boys sat down at the back last row next to us.

When I sat down on the last available seat... our eyes met. I glanced-off when I heard someone tapped the microphone. I bit my lower lip when I feel his stare from the back. Unti-unti ng dumarating ang mga youth galing sa iba't-ibang church. My churchmates stood and hugged them. They have this little talk to their closest one while I haven't mine. So, I just remained seated.

I sighed heavily when I slowly felt the coldness of the night. I closed my eyes for a second and opened it after then I stood. Diretso ang tingin ko patungo sa gawing gilid patungo sa tent namin. Umalis muna ako sandali roon because I need a jacket. It's getting cold. Malapit na ako sa tent ko when I saw a man standing on the side of the boy's tent but I can barely see his face because he's against the light.

It's Adriel. Hindi ko man lang napansin na umalis siya. He's having a ciggarete moment. I covered my nose because of the gray white smoke got out from his mouth. I coughed when it reached my position. It's not allowed here.

"Excuse me? Just so you know, it's strictly prohibited here..." I gently said but he has no reaction. He just gave me a rude plain look as his eyes conveyed that he doesn't even care. I wonder why he's here if he will not cooperate to the camp's rule and regulations. Well, that the question though... this place is not for perfect people. It's for those who want to join. After a second, he throwed the ciggarete on the ground and crashed it with his right foot. 

"Done..."

He started to make several steps back to the open area at dumaan lang sa gilid ko na parang isang anino lang ako. I vigorously closed my eyes as I opened my mouth and asked...

"Are you at The IVOS grand album launch? " I asked nervously.
