Chapter 33

Adriel.

After kong maihanda ang pagkain namin ngayong gabi ay umupo ako sa gilid ng kama para gisingin siya. Bumili talaga ako sa labas dahil mas masarap ang pagkain sa Good Taste.

“Love,” I woke her up. She opened her eyes at tinignan ang nakahain na pagkain sa table saka niya ibinalik ang tingin sa akin.

“Let’s eat.” I moored my hand on her cheek and fondled it. I know she’s in so much pain right now.

The shadows of light in her face drifted into so much hurt. I can see how the radiance of darkness filled her eyes. It won't even stop the tears from falling.

She perched herself up and bridled my hand on her face. She put it down gently and looked at it as she held it tighter.

I descried her eyes welling in tears without hearing her sobs. I leaned my head forward to gaze at her face.

“Come here,” I said and positioned her head gently on my chest as I rested my head to her head.

May mas sasakit pa ba sa nakikita ko ngayon? Ang taong pinakamamahal ko ay lubos na nasasaktan at higit sa lahat ay wala akong magawa para pagaanin ang loob niya.

I shoved her hair in an amiable manner. I tightened my embrace. I want her to feel that she’s safe in my arms.

Nang matapos kaming kumain at mag-ayos ay tumungo na kami para matulog.

“Goodnight, love,” I said and gave her a one soft kiss on her forehead. Nag-simula na ako maglakad papunta sa couch nang bigla niya akong tawagin.

“Babe.”

I looked back and veered my eyes on her.

“Sleep here,” she said. I furrowed my brows. Hindi ako makapaniwala sa narinig ko.

I know Betryle, she’s a kind of girl who is very conservative and pure in every decisions that she’s going to make. She’s careful and always circumspect dealing in her situations. My eyes were filled of wander in disbelief.

She moved to the side of the bed and smiled at me. “Don’t worry, I’d trust you.”

I tried to close my eyes and go to sleep but I can’t help thinking about the awkwardness that we had right now. I shouldn’t be here.

Nagulat ako nang humarap din siya kasabay ko. I flushed deeply when our eyes met. I grasped at her eyes down to her lips and glanced off when she bit her lower lip. She’s doing it again.

“You can’t sleep?” She nodded while our eyes perdured our trade of stare.

I know I should be the one to lighten up our atmosphere right now. I had so much respect for her and I will do anything to keep it that way.

“Come here,” I stretched my left hand near to her head and gently positioned it on my arms. Guided it to the left part of my chest.

I couldn’t think of anything else right now. As long as she’s safe with me, nothing else matters. I can feel her tight hug as she placed her right hand to the side of my body. I gently shoved her hair. She closed her eyes.

Tomorrow is our seventh month as a couple. Every day I know that she’s the one I want to be with for the rest of my life. I believe that even uncertainty of tomorrow lies ahead of us, we’ll be able to surmount it. As long as we’re together.

I have so much faith in her love… that it will always find its way back to me.

I woke up early in the morning. Hindi ko na siya ginising. I just left a note. Meron akong gustong bilhin para sa kanya. Ang kanyang paboritong bulaklak at ang paborito niyang pagkain. I also invited Conor, Nathan and Nikko to come over para hindi naman masiyadong intimate ang celebration namin mamaya.
