Rachel's POV

Dan said I should go get myself a change of clothes for the weekend whilst he showers.But honestly I would like to take him on the offer of showering together. After bumping into him dressed in a towel only.

I mean Dan is one fine specimen. I don't blame the women for falling at his feet like candy.

"What does he see in you?" That annoying voice in my head.

I am no model but I can also hold my own. Dan seems to be attracted to me. I will just enjoy this fun adventure for as long as I can.

Remember Rachel, this is you having some fun. Don't expect too much otherwise you will get hurt.

As I am walking down the stairs , I see a man sitting on one of the bar stools in the kitchen eating.

Who is he? I think I have seen him before but I just don't seem to recall where?

Is he Dan's brother? Does Dan even have siblings? I realise I don't know anything about Dan.

"Good Morning Miss" He greets me. I didn't even notice that I have reached the living room and I am standing awkwardly with my dress from the previous night and Dan's oversize jacket.

Dan gave me the jacket since it a little bit chilly outside. 

All I want to do right now is to get new changing clothes and rectify my commando situation.

"Mam, I am John. I work for Mr Carter." The man continues as I have not bothered to respond. He looks young and he is not displeasing to the eye. But he is no Dan Carter.

"I am sorry,Rachel Smith. Please call me Rachel. Mam makes me feel old."

"I don't think my boss will appreciate me being on the first name basis with his girlfriend."  

Well I guess me and Dan have upgraded to boyfriend and  girlfriend status, if that is what he told his staff.

"What do you do for your boss if you don't mind me asking?"

"You can say I am part of his security detail or more often his driver." Oh, that explains it , I saw him with Dan and Monica at our offices. He was the guy that stood outside and waited for them.

"Ok,how long have you worked for Mr Carter?" 

"About five years,Miss if you don't mind. Can we finish this interview later. Sir, asked me to accompany you to the store." John jokes I tell that he is a nice guy and we will getting along just fine.

"With all due respect John, I really don't need a baby sitter. If you could just give me the directions to the store I am sure I will make it." I keep a straight face.

" Mam, I'm I... I did't mean to offend you."  John stutters. And I fail miserably to keep a serious face and I laugh at him.

"Relax John, I know you are just following the instructions. But I will be fine, just give me the directions."

John gives me the directions and apparently it is just 5 minutes away. Dan wanted to take me and buy the clothes for me. But I gave him that look that Jess says freezes the ocean. He surrendered immediately.

"Where are you going ?"  I ask John as I see that he is following me to the door.

"Mam, I just wanted to open the door for you."

"No offense John but I am a grown woman. I can manage opening the door."

John shakes his head and chuckles. After that he bows down.

"As you wish mam."  He let me head to the door by myself.

"I can definitely see why he likes you" He adds as an after thought.

Dan's POV

"Why did you ask me to accompany Miss Smith if you knew she will refuse?"

I laugh so hard. I knew that she will not agree. I wanted to get back at John for all the times he has been giving me a hard time lately.

Judging by how pissed John is now, my Rachel delivered.

"I have no idea what you are talking about John." I torment him.

"Oh really, you throw me at the wolves and that is your defense sir." I can see that he is calm now.

"Call it what you like John." I continue laughing.

"You can laugh all you want sir, but I promise you that Miss Smith will tame you and that will be my revenge without lifting a finger."

"Don't worry about me John, I can handle Miss Smith."

As if she could sense that we were talking about her. She walks back in with two shopping bags.

" I was not expecting you to be back for at least another 30 minutes."  

"Danny boy I know what I want. I don't need to mindlessly shop and waste time." 

John gives me the I told you so look ,chuckles and heads to the direction of  the security detail office.

"Mam" He says and bows when he passes Rachel.

" I don't know if I should be scared or aroused that you manage to frighten my bodyguard"

But I must say it is the latter for me. Her being sassy just turned me on big time.

I grab her and I kiss her hard.

She drops the bags in her hands and she tries to deepen the kiss. But I keep the kiss brief, I really don't want to change the plans for today.

Right now all I want is to take Rachel upstairs and have my way with her.

But that will ruin all the progress I have made.

All in good time Daniel. Besides delayed gratification is the best.

Even though it is like the worst nightmare for me.
