Rachel's POV

"Crap! Crap ! I am so late" I am supposed to be pulling out of my drive way now. Not waking up.

I blame Daniel for this. He is the reason for my restlessness. 

Last night I could not fall asleep as I am anxious about this lunch date.

Wait  don't be so foward girl it is not even a date. Maybe he has a business proposition for you.

Don't be a full Daniel does not go out with girls like you.

You are way out of your league here young lady. 

"Oh no, I am screwed. I was supposed to be in the shower for 5 minutes but it looks like I have been there for years. I am so late."

"I hate you Daniel I say this as I get into the training room at the office." I realised that I am actually 30 minutes late today.

All the managers are in training this week. I awkwardly walk to the front. 

Of-course it is just my luck that the day I am late , the only seat available happens to be at the front row.

Rachel you can kiss your good reputation goodbye in this office.

"Thank you for joining us Miss Smith." The facilitator comments and everybody laughs.

Really , this is not high school where I should be humiliated in front of the whole class.

I think my walk of shame to the front row seat has accomplished that task already. 

"We were busy recapping yesterday's session Miss Smith. What topic stood out for you and why?"

Since I was so late and I rushed taking my seat. I did't realise that I placed my glass of  water behind my laptop. 

So before I could respond to the facilitator. I accidentally pushed my laptop a bit too harshly and the glass of water fell.

And guess who is the target?

The facilitator standing right in front of my desk.

To some people it looks like I did it deliberately.

Welcome to the city Rachel.

We had to take our tea break a bit early since the facilitator had to step out and fix my mess.

I am now standing by myself drinking a cup of tea and having biscuits.

"Don't be hard on yourself. I can tell that you are brooding. If I am being honest we are just grateful that you saved us from that recap session." The girl that was sitting next to me in the training room says.

"I am Sabrina by the way."

" I'm ..."

"Don't bother,you are the new manager Rachel. Everybody knows you."

"Tell me about it, I think after today I will be remembered forever."

"Yep, you made history.  I am so glad I met you and I need to be associated with new famous  girl in school." We both laugh.

"I thought I was the only one who thought this training session feels like high school again." We laugh again.

" I am in the Financial Services division, we should catch up at lunch as well."  Sabrina comments as we make our way back to the training room.

"Sure that would be great. We can do that tomorrow. I kinda promised a friend that I will meet up with him out for coffee today during my lunch hour"

"No problem Rachel, I will hold you to lunch tomorrow."

I guess I have made my first friend in this office. This day wont be a total nightmare after all.
