Ydris froze at your words and you practically saw his muscles tense up. He studied your appearance, his eyes disbelieving as equally as thoughtful. His brows were furrowed and Ydris laid both his hands on your shoulders in a firm grip.
His mouth opened to say something, but he closed it soon afterwards. He broke eye contact with you and looked down.
Ydris strong hands slid down your petite arms until they reached your hands. He took yours in his and gently tugged you closer.
"And despite that cruel knowledge my dove came flying back to me." His voice was a broken chuckle, sounded as if he was trying to convince himself of something you can't tell.
You looked at Ydris with gentle eyes and patiently awaited his next move. You weren't mad at him, not at all.
"Ydris" Your voice was soothing and created a more relaxed atmosphere. This time you cupped his cheek and made him look at you.
But all possible words got stuck in your throat. What are you supposed to say in this unreal situation? Are there even the right words to shine correctly through the tension?
Instead of saying something, your heart guided you forward and made you wrap your arms around Ydris muscular body. You carefully rubbed his back, like he always did when you were feeling down.
"We all do dumb things as well as mistakes, Ydris." You eventually got out. Not the best, but the only thing you could come up with.
"And it's kinda my fault too" You chuckled. Ydris remained silent which fairly confused you. Despite that you kept performing your seemingly useless try of what should be a consolation.
"I mean..." The smile on your face was fading and the warmth in your chest left. "If I... if I wouldn't have stepped into your life... maybe... just maybe..." Your voice trailed of and turned into a mumble the more the sentence carried on.
"Everything would be alright?" Ydris spoke up. The end of the sentence hurt even more when it was his voice saying it.
"Yeah..." You pulled away and rubbed your arm, looking down at the pitch black nothing beneath your feet.
Nerverless pulling away didn't help much, because soon you were in Ydris' embrace again.
"You're the last person to blame for this, my love" Ydris spoke softly, as if his voice would be a hard stone and you a thin piece of glass. His hand smoothly glided over the small of your back and you let out a quiet hum of relaxation.
There was a brief silence, decorated by sorrow and calmness. A really weird mix.
"You didn't answer the question I asked you several times"
"What 'question'?"
"Why are you here?"
You caught him by surprise again. As you looked up to see his face you got met with eyes that carried unreadable emotions within their beautiful colors.
"Pandorian love isn't easy little petal"
Instead of saying something you kept looking at him with questioning eyes. Soon Ydris understood you weren't satisfied. He stepped back, releasing you from his embrace.
"Pandorians only fall in love once in a lifetime" Ydris explained. Your eyes widened in shock. "It rarely happens that we fall in love with a human, but if it does, it can get dangerous. Really dangerous."
An icy dread hit your core as excitement and fear pumped through your veins at the same time. You were thrilled to hear what he has to say.
"This 'love' can easily turn into an obsession. An unstoppable desire that pushes us to the edge of insanity and makes us do the craziest things for the person of interest. Once you're in, it's impossible to get out"
Goosebumps were shown on your skin and you could feel your heart knocking on your chest. His explanation somehow answered your question, somehow it didn't.
All of a sudden Ydris dived forward an took your face into his hands.
"I'm going mad [Y/N]!"
Your eye grew even wider, half with shock and half with fear. His sudden mood change confused you and sent a fine shiver wandering up and down your spine.
"Don't you understand?! I can't lose you, this would be the end of me!"
Ydris' voice held so much despair and sorrow that it would be enough to build a city. You simply stood there, staring at Ydris.
"Say something... anything..." He pleaded as he let go of your face.
"Ydris..." You breathed. You inhaled deeply before returning your gaze to the mysterious man. "You will not lose me. Someday I will manage to get out of here and we can leave the bad memories behi--"
An earthquake like tremor stopped you mid-sentence. As soon as it came it was gone again and noises started to fill the darkness.
She's waking up...
As you looked to your side you saw Ydris staring at you.
"It's time for me to go ma chérie"
"WHAT?!"
Hope left your body and got replaced by the feeling of sorrow and emptiness as one single question plagued your mind.
"Why can't I just come with you..?"
"Certain reasons, my love" Ydris started to approach you and cupped your cheek one last time.
"I will do everything to free you, I promise" Were the last words to leave his mouth before he disappeared into nothing, leaving you alone once again.
|~Author POV~|
Linda walked down the stairs after changing into new, fresh and clean clothing. Lisa was already waiting for her.
"Are you ready?" She asked as she got her boots on.
"Yes, we can go now" Linda replied and Lisa and her made their way to the stone circle.
Arrived at the stone circle Elizabeth, Luka and Alex were already waiting for them.
"Linda, Lisa"
"Elizabeth"
They went to their usual spots and Linda dismounted Meteor, walking up to the fiery red haired woman.
"Are you injured or anything else Linda?" Elizabeth asked with concern in her voice and her emerald eyes sparkling. Linda only shook her head in response and started to explain the current situation and what had happened.
--Time Skip--
"And how did you manage to escape?" Luka and Alex asked in unision, both stunned by Linda's technique.
"I created an illusion of Meteor, [H/N] and me as soon as fog was shielding us from her view and Adria went after the illusions. Taking that to my advantage, I rode back to Valedale"
"God why 'Adria'? The name [Y/N] fits that cute face more" Luka mumbled a little too loud. Blood rushed to his cheeks as the others looked at him with confusion and Alex gave him a knowing look.
"Anyway, well done Linda" Elizabeth took the attention back to her to save her grandson, who was visibly greatful for the rescue.
"But one thing confuses me" Alex spoke up. Elizabeth turned towards her and gave her the approval to continue.
"If the virus us that dangerous like you told us why isn't [Y/N] already... you know..." Alex didn't need to finish the sentence, everybody knew what she wanted to say.
Elizabeth let out a sigh. She knew she couldn't hide the truth any longer and for Aideen's sake, hopefully Alex keeps her mouth shut when [Y/N]'s back.
"Girls, there is something about [Y/N] that you don't know yet"
