-Both Sonic and Rob waited patiently for Fleetway to get to their location. It took him about three minutes for Fleetway to fly over to them. He landed in front of Sonic and looked in Rob's direction. He looked at Sonic in confusion. "Now what's happening?"
"We're helping Rob," Sonic replied. "Since you know Amy can't even run around I thought we could help."
"But why call me?"
"Thought you could use the experience," Sonic grined. "Rob's family name was challenged and since he's a king he has to resolve this. Now Rob is a rational king so I though this would be good for you."
"Aren't you supposed to be a king?" Fleetway narrowed his eyes and crossed his arms. "That stuff has nothing to do with me."
"Yeah, but it's still good for you to learn how to do things rationally instead of murdering people all the time."
"Whatever."
-Rob pulled his hood over his face more and cleared his throat to get their attention. "Prithee, shall we go now? We mustn't waste time."
"Sorry, Rob," Sonic started walking and waited for them to follow him. "I know you came a long way to do this. Where are we headed anyway?"
"The beach where the Chao have made their nest," Rob answered.
"Oh! You mean the Blood-fill Coast?"
-Fleetway widened his eyes and looked at Sonic. "Why is it called that if a bunch of Chao live there?"
"It was called that before the Chao moved there," Sonic explained. "This was way back when Eggman was turning everyone into robots. There would be people fighting there all the time in hopes they could live there and not be turned to robots. They ended up just killing each other, covering the beach in blood, thus the name 'Blood-fill Coast,'" He then shook his head and smirked. "They say sometimes you can still find puddles of blood from the bodies."
"That doesn't make sense. They would be dried up or washed away by now!" Fleetway snorted.
"They just say that so people understand how dreadful it was."
"Hard to believe Chao have moved there despite the history," Rob cut in. "The scent would've driven them away from the beach."
"I honestly find it hard to believe myself," Sonic remarked. "But despite its terrible history it's still one of the most beautiful beaches around," He then looked at Rob. "Who challenged you anyway?"
"Someone I exiled from my Kingdom," Rob responded as he crossed his arms. "He's sworn to take my title from me, but I can't let that happen."
"Why would you accept his challenge?" Fleetway asked. "You're the king so you don't need to listen to someone else's demand."
"If Rob doesn't accept the challenge then by law he's giving him the crown," Sonic pointed out.
"That's stupid!" Fleetway growled. "Who made that law!?"
"As much as I don't want to fight I must to ensure that my father's tasks that he was unable to do are done," Rob remarked. He then looked at Fleetway and grined. "You've got spunk there. What's you're name?"
"Fleetway."
"And you're Sonic's brother as well?" Rob looked at Sonic. "I thought you were going to call Manic when you said you wanted you're brother to come."
"Eh..." Was all Sonic said.
"It's nice to meet you anyway," Rob said as he looked back at Fleetway. "I must say you remind me of a ghoul I've slayed before. I hope that doesn't offend you."
"It's fine," Fleetway sighed. "Being compared to a ghoul isn't the worst thing."
"You have ghouls going around you're island?" Sonic asked.
"Yes, but they're nothing my archery skills can't handle," Rob gloated. "Some are saying that they came from an island close to mine. They're not an issue though. They're just destroying people's homes."
"How's that not an issue!?" Fleetway sneered.
"They're not eating anyone...yet..." Rob pulled his hood over his face again as he took the lead.
-Sonic sighed as he crossed his arms. He stopped listening when Fleetway and Rob started making conversation and focused on his own thoughts. He was worried about Fleetway. He noticed that so far if anyone he's close to gets someone as their partner then Fleetway isolates himself from them. He thought that maybe he and Maggie could get close enough to where that shouldn't happen again, but Sonic knew that wasn't Fleetway's objective. What will you do with your life? He saw Fleetway look at him but neither of them spoke.-They made it to the Blood-fill Coast and were greeted by a crowd of yelling mobians. They were staring at a brown wolf wearing a torn up tuxedo and worn out dress shoes, his hair was sleek but filthy, his green eyes were dull in frustration, and his long tail was missing patches of fur. He was staring at Rob when they walked up to him. Rob had motioned Sonic and Fleetway to move back and they obeyed.
-Fleetway had started looking around before he stared at Sonic. "Why are there so many people here?"
"Someone probably started talking about the challenge," Sonic replied. He the scanned the area slowly. "It's not everyday someone challenges a king for their throne."
"That wolf is the one challenging him, right?" Fleetway pointed at the brown wolf who was talking to Rob. "He's too scrawny. What makes him think that he can challenge Rob?"
"I don't know," Sonic shook his head and crossed his arms. "Rob might have done something that wolf disagreed with, and after being exiled he might've let anger corrupt him."
"Yo, Sonic! Fleetway!" Both Sonic an Fleetway looked over and saw Knuckles walking up to him. He stopped in front of them and was grinning. "Didn't think you guys would show up."
"We came with Rob," Sonic explained. "He wanted Amy, but she has work and you know she can't really do anything."
"I'd be careful with that mouth," Knuckles warned him. Sonic stared at him in confusion before he saw Amy, Rouge, and Maggie walked towards them. Sonic blinked a couple of times before he tilted his head at Knuckles who just smirked. "When they heard about it they begged me to take them."
-Amy then stood next to Knuckles and slapped his shoulder. "Wrong! You asked us if we wanted to go."
"Potato potato!" Knuckles rolled his eyes.
"Whatever!" Rouge walked up and placed one hand on her hip. "We only decided to come because it was Rob who was challenged."
-When Maggie shyly walked over Amy wrapped her arm around her shoulder and smiled at Sonic. "We were just getting out of work and I thought you and Fleetway would be here too!" She winked.
-Sonic giggled and started nudging Fleetway's arm with his elbow. "Go say hi," He encouraged him. Fleetway snorted but immediately stepped back a bit when Maggie walked up to him and started talking.
-Amy stood next to Sonic so he snaked his hand around her waist and pulled her in. "Any chance you know who that wolf is?" He asked Amy.
"I think Rob said before that his name is Dominic," Amy replied. She put her fingers on her chin and looked up a bit. "He uh...was exiled because he insisted on something genocide-like, and since Rob is smart and noble he didn't let that pass."
-Sonic nodded and looked as they crowd moved backwards more to give Rob and Dominic some room. Rob pulled up his bow and Dominic started laughing as he pulled out a sword from his belt. "This is a sword fight! Put away that ridiculous stick 'n string and get a sword."
-Rob looked worriedly at his bow. "I...I don't necessarily have one..." He said awkwardly.
-Dominic shook his head as he pulled out another sword and threw it at the ground in front of Rob. "There now. Can we please begin?"
-Rob set his bow down and grabbed the sword. He clenched both his hands on the handle and the sword started to tremble. Rob then nodded and swung the sword behind his head. "Ready when you are!" He taunted the wolf.
"This isn't good!" Amy whispered. "Rob only knows a few basic techniques and doesn't use them as often. If he's not careful he'll lose!"
"One more thing," Dominic spoke and everyone fell silent. He smirked as his tail started wagging in excitement. "This is a battle to the death!"
-Rob's eyes widened and he set his arms down. "What do you mean!?"
"You know exactly what I mean, Robert. Whoever kills their opponent will be declared the winner."
"You can't be serious!" Amy yelled out.
"Don't you realize how stupid you sound!?" Knuckles growled.
-Sonic gritted his teeth at the sight of Rob showing fear. Sonic knew Rob would be able to wound someone without hesitation, but killing was never his agenda. Sonic could feel his fear and he didn't like it. "Can't it be something like the first cut? Why must there be death!?"
"It is the way of the blade," Dominic spoke in an emotionless manner. "It must be respected."
"It is all right my friends!" Rob reassured them. He closed his eyes and sighed. When he opened his eyes they were serious. He swung the sword behind his head and glared at Dominic. "If I must then I will slay you!"
"No, Rob!" Amy cried out.
"We can't do anything now, Amy," Sonic sighed. "All we can really do is watch and pray that Rob wins."
"This is fucking stupid and you know it!" Fleetway growled, which frightened Maggie. "Why do these things even exist!?"
"Ask the people who came up with it centuries ago," Sonic said sternly. "Stop complaining already and help us cheer Rob on. It's the least we can do."
-Fleetway nodded as he stared the two in the center, his eyes burning in anger. "Rob better kill him then."
-Sonic shook his head and watched as everyone stayed silent. All that could be heard were the Chao singing over in the distance. After a few seconds, both Rob and Dominic leaped and striked each other's swords. They pushed each other back and continued to strike one another. Sonic tightened his grip on Amy as he silently prayed. Please, Chaos. Let him live. Let him live.
