I did as Fleetway told me to. I lived on, crowned myself king, married Amy, and had two beautiful children; a son and daughter. Although the rest of my life seemed pretty happy, I always had Fleetway in the back of my mind. My family didn't shed as many tears as I did, but I knew they missed him just the same. Shadow never seemed to get over it. He and Rouge got married and had a daughter, but nothing else other than that made him happy. Tails had kept the machine he made to make Fleetway visible in my palace so that I could always remember how happy we were. After we told the news to Maggie years ago, she couldn't cope with it and hung herself. I grew old and ill now, but I'm happy. I'm happy to be heading towards my death so I can be with Fleetway again.
"King Sonic," A female voice spoke.
-Sonic opened his eyes and found himself in a place that seemed like a mixture of the ocean and space. He was floating and he felt younger than he was. He felt like a young adult again. Where am I?
"Sonic," The voice spoke again.
-Sonic turned around and saw a female orange echidna. He squinted his eyes at her and then widened them. "Tikal!? Is that really you? Where am I?"
-Tikal moved closer to Sonic and smiled. "You are in a place where good souls like you come to rest."
"So, am I dead then?" Sonic looked around, confused on why he didn't see anyone else.
"Is there someone you're looking for?" Tikal asked with a big smile.
-Sonic looked at Tikal and nodded. "My brother died about fifty-six years ago and I've been waiting for this moment since then."
"Fleetway I presume?" Tikal nodded. "Of course. You know he's actually been watching you since he came here. I always see him smile when he watched you."
"So he's actually here then!?" Sonic looked around again. "Where is he?"
-Tikal giggled and turned around. "Wait right here," She said as she faded away.
-Sonic just stood there, waiting impatiently. He wanted nothing more than to see his twin brother again. He longed to hear his voice insulting him, to feel his embrace, and to be able to see his face. Fifty-six years and I'm finally here. Can you hear me?
"I can."
-Sonic shot up and turned around. Tikal had appeared with Fleetway next to her. Fleetway looked happy and healthy just like Sonic imagined him to be. Sonic felt overjoyed and went over to hug him. He began crying as Fleetway hugged him back. "It's you! It's really you! I've missed you my dear brother."
-Fleetway pulled back and laughed. "Good thing you came here looking young! I honestly didn't want to spend the rest of our eternity with you being old and smelly!" He teased.
-Sonic laughed and wiped the tears from his eyes. "Oh how I missed you teasing me like that. How has it been here?"
"Well, my back feels normal now," Fleetway gloated. "I feel powerful but relaxed."
"I'm sorry you had to be here alone."
-Fleetway shook his head and wagged his finger at Sonic. "I wasn't alone. I had Maggie."
"Maggie is here too!?" Sonic sighed and crossed his arms. "I regretted telling her about your death since it caused her to kill herself."
"I was upset about that too," Fleetway nodded. "But we've been happy here," Fleetway then grabbed Sonic's hand and interlaced his fingers with Sonic's. "And now I'm even happier."
"Me too, Fleetway," Sonic hugged him and squeezed him tightly. "Me too."
